I finally purchased my new ticket. I will save the old one from when I was hospitalized and use it later. NWA has the first summer travel promo I have ever seen. The point of this post is not the meal at Claude's. Regular visitors here (DS especially) already know the place and most others will either go there or not but in either case, Claude doesn't need the extra business. Here's the point. I went outside to have a smoke between the Salade Nicoise and the Cordon Bleu, and I noticed 8 or 9 lovely, well-dressed young women heading up the alley directly to the right of Claude's. Here were some seriously good looking women, and since they were, in general, smiling in my direction, and since my wife was inside Claude's I smiled back and asked where they were headed. And where they were headed was to the courtyard with multiple eateries and restuarants directly adjacent to Henny's, or behind Claude's and slightly to right with the entrance on Rizal.

Back in about November GoodEnough reported in this forum on this Pension as a good reasonably priced possibility. I stayed there for a month through April-May and can now report. And I can certainly recommend it.

It is located in Marbini Street at Dona Vicenta Village, Davao City. It gave me the privacy, independence, discretion and comfort needed for a month of, for me, successful mongering in this wonderful City. (See my 38 day report series in the main Davao ISG board).

There is a small selection of rooms; I stayed in the Blue Room which gave me two private side entrances. I did a month's deal, broken into two 2 week stints. It cost me 18, 000 pesos for the month, about 640 pesos a night, and well below the 1000+ peso daily rate. My room was quite roomy, had a kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator, a large plasma screen television, and a fixed line internet connection. Right next door was Joes Traders Convienience store, a corner pharmacy, and within a short walking distance two comfortable Cafes with wi fi. Within half a kilometer was Torres Street with a number of restaurants in the area and two well appointed gymnasiums (should you need further daily exercise).

Downtown, Peoples Park, Gaisano Mall and Victoria Mall were only 35-50 peso rides away. I could walk downtown within 20 minutes.

I had previously stayed at Las Casitas in Rizal Street and Hotel Galleria in Gov Duterte Street, but for quietness and economy I would recommend the Casa Ruby [[url]www.casarubydavao.com][/url].

I have also examined some rooms at the Red Knights Gardens often mentioned in these columns; [[url]www.redknightgardens.com][/url]. Here there is a swimming pool and a nice restaurant, but I felt the rooms were a little tired. It is also further out of downtown compared to Casa Ruby.

Kong King: Excuse me guy but this IS t he MAIN DAVAO BOARD. I started visiting Davao City 13 years ago. Made over sixty (60)Trips here. In 2003 I joined ISG and posted on the then Davao Board. In more than three years the Board had exactly twelve (yes 12) posts. ALL saying Davao was unsafe and to stay away.

I wrote that I had been going here for ten years and meeting/fucking tons of lovely, young regular (non pro) ladies. Having a great time and never felt unsafe. Soon, a guy calling himself GoodEnough came along and mentioned that he had just moved to Davao City and really enjoyed it. I do NOT recommend certain places to stay in Davao simply because I viewed them and found the lack of amenities and security unsuitable. I stay solely at the Marco Polo but I have recommended a dozen other Hotels for guys looking to spend less than $40 US/night.

By the way, downtown Davao is NOT the only Place to stay. The area known as Lanang where Red Knights Garden resides is full of great places to eat and meet gorgeous, young women. GoodEnough and I post on them regularly. For the budget minded, Red Knights Garden IS the best place. I stayed there 2 nights last January (2 Br & Efficiency). Paid $45/nt for the 2 BR with large livingroom/diningroom and full kitchen (perfect for 2 guys to share this place). Paid $25 for the one night in the efficiency.
