Chorizo, is there any reason to post such a response? If someone wants their change, then they have a right to it. For guys who hit an ATM every day, the money adds up. Chill out.

Chorizo, your "dear Leo and other Jews" that you just changed in "dear Leo and other cheapskates" is NOT acceptable : I hope the administrator will ban you as soon as possible for those insults to a respectable and good added-value poster.
You're obviously full of crap, your five posts on the Tijuana thread as well, and believe me nobody will miss you.
Hey Guys (and Pro),
Listen. There is no need to get all up in arms over my statements. It's simply one mans opinion and nothing more. I think you all focus too much on saving a few centavos here and there rather, than having fun while traveling. Your main concern should be to have fun and not whether you can save .5 or .10 cents.
As for the Jews comment hey, its just a joke and nothing more. Take a chill pill. I do apologize to anyone who got offended.
Currently I'm planning a trip to Colombia and searching for info on the Ladies has become a bit challenging because, of all the other crap you guys (and Pro) choose to discuss on this board. I hate having to comb through hundreds of posts just to get info on the ladies.
I also believe that life is too short to worry about a few cents here or there. However, this board and life in general is NO place for ANY kind of racial, ethnic or religious slurs. "Joking" about these things is very ugly and anyone that does is ugly as well. JMHO.
No one, not even me ever posted with regards to saving a few cents, let alone the "$.05 to .10" you posted.
The main information in my post was regarding the choice of using the ATM over the VISA card - the latter could cost you an $80 fee with over $100 in interest if you pay a large monthly statement even on the due date.
With regard to saving on ATM fees, for someone going to an ATM a few times a week... that could easily add to 25 times in month (almost once a day is easy espcially in Cali where they have low max amounts permisable per withdrawl)... well 25 times at $1.50 from BoA and $1.50 from the local bank adds up to $75.... not a nickel or a dime.
As an example, a retired gentleman on fixed income social security retirement from a life of civil service serving his community, or high school teacher (either is a very important and well regarded career in my opionion) enjoying a long summer vacation, who might enjoy Cali as one of the few places he can take a 4 week vacation given his $40k or $50k annual budget... well he might find saving $75 nice. Even a banker or a lawyer earning six figures might wish to keep his $75 versus paying it to his bank for the priveledge of an account... not all like to 'waste' money paying fees that otherwise aren't necessary.
On a different note, regarding the fact that you're having difficulties finding info on the girls, especially on this site, it must only mean you haven't done your duty of reading past posts in the section, especially if you're ragging on me. I challenge you to find 5 other posters (yes, there have been a few, thumbs ups guys!) who have provided posts of detals and specifics greater than my post of July. Please tell us in your opinion which posts have detailed greater amounts of specifics on girls or places, pro or nonpro... names, addresses, girls' name, costs, locations, times, prices, rules, tricks, scams, etc.
AND TO CONCLUDE, COMMENTS OF PREJUDICED OR STEREOTYPING NATURE HAVE NO PLACE - ON WSG OR IN ANY POSTS OR SIMPLY PUT IN LIFE... so go get one.
AF and Saint you are right, I never was able to withdrawl 1mil pesos on one transaction. Your posts prompted to me to pull my receipts, and I see I was able to get 500k per card (two cards, thus my remembering getting 1mil) in one stop to the ATM.
This was the only ATM that allowed 500k (that I found).
The receipt says SERVIBANCA. I can only guess but I nearly certain remember it was at the green kiosk in the parking lot (next to the little food stand) of the supermarket two blocks from Parque de Perros in San Fernando. There is a Karen's across the side street from the market. There is an ATM across Cra 27 - not that one. There are two ATMs on 5th - not those.
I also remember that the max amount varried - some days only 400k, others 500k - I have receipts showing both amounts, in pairs per each day used.
This ATM is the most convenient of any choices if you're in San Fernando, perhaps staying at Rigo's. Let's see a report with an update frin someone.
Chorizo wrote "take a chill pill".
Take your remarks to another board.
Leo,
I was just there in March and that ATM didn't even work when I went there. I also have a Bank of America ATM and a few Paypal ATM cards as well as another from another bank. I think the times I tried it was out of money. I did use the one across the street but it only had a 300,000 max. It's easy to blow money in Cali if you're hobbying alot.
You're totally right. Usually the ones that complain the most on WSG are the ones that haven't contributed anything or the ones that don't contribute anything of substance.
There are so many guys that post countless posts to help other guys. It's amazing how much people still complain. Thanks for your past posts. Have fun I'm off to Europe.
Saint
i have yet to find any atm in colombia allowing more than 400k per withdrawal. in cartagena, they are all 300k, and in some shopping malls in bogota none allow more than 200k. while the banks claim these low limits are "for your security", i believe it is all about maximizing their fees. servibanco is definitely 400k (that is the one i use most frequently).
atm fees add up to way more than "a few centavos". both your bank at home plus the bank owning the atm will charge you fees in excess of a dollar for each withdrawal. but these charges still pale compared to cash advances or changing banknotes at cambios.
imho, racial, ethnic or religious slurs should not be tolerated regardless of whether the supposed intent was "merely joking" or outright hate speech.
on another note, hotel don jaime hit me for a 26k guest fee ($10) for the first time (though i do not stay there often as i have another hotel i prefer). it was a male receptionist (as opposed to the lady i remember from reception from past trips). this adds almost a third to your cost (rate is 74k before guest fee).
NYC Expat,
There has been some incorrect information posted about Fiance Visas.
The fiance visa is only good for 90 days.
They imigration offercier at the US point of entry will ask her ( and you independently- if you accompany herwhen) the wedding is scheduled. They can and do deny entry to people if they feel it is n ot a legitimate visa.
Once you marry you file the forms with the local office and your new wife has temporary resident status for two years. After two years she can apply for permanent resident status.
You are on the hook for here for the two years that it takes for her to get a permanent green card. The documents that you file for her make you financially responsible for her. If you can not cover her under your insurance plan, you will be responsible for any medical bills she incurs.
Don
Servibanco (or the green ones) also let me take out 300K or 400k per transaction. However, there was an option for "multi-transactions" and when I used that option, I could do that 3 or 4 times and get out a few hundred dollars to last me a day or two. I think I remember it only charging me once for several withdraws when done this way.
Cali is a beautiful city, with beautiful women. Going with 4-5 women per day does add up. Even with the "very reasonable" prices, you might as well try to save a few dollars and get the extra girl instead of the bank getting the money.
Hey Surfer - that guy at HDJ is named Winston and I think he is the night manager. Usually, I would slip him a few dollars and he always looked the other way. I am glad that you are back from your last venture to the country south of the NORTH POLE. mumms the word! :-) (send photos to my e-mail PLEASE!)
Dude go to CitiBank! It will even give you the amount in dollars!

I`m in Cali right now. Sorry guys not much news to post on mongering (being trailed all day by my chica`s brothers), but I just wanted to add that the Banco de Colombia ATM near Puente La Luna in La Luna says that it allows withdrawals of 1.2 million. So probably this goes for all Banco de Colombia ATMs. Haven`t tried to withdraw that much though, because imho it`s safer not to walk around with that much of money on you.
Please provide the location of the Citibank. What's the max withdrawl?
But then, what good are US$s in Colombia?
And for everyone tired of financial discussion (although it's certainly linked to scoring P4P now isn't it?)... I'll be visiting this month and be happy to provide a small report.
Dear Leo,
Please enlighten us, upon your return, with such great tips as, switching from two-ply to one-ply or how to recycle used condoms. I’m sure that the $1.50 an average school teacher will save each month from doing so will greatly improve the quality of their lives.
What I have found to be an effective way of saving money in my travels is carrying my own paper towels. I usually take them from the airplane restroom on my flight in. That way when I go to the rip-off clubs and that annoying bathroom attendant tries to give me a paper towel I just rip out my own and laugh and keep that peso in my pocket. I just thought that I would share my own money saving plans with you guys. I know that after I have spent $5-700 on airfare and a few hundred on a hotel room I just can’t seem to get it up unless I know I’ve saved $1.50 somewhere. I would just like to thank you guys for taking up the last page plus arguing over the daily limits on the ATM machines and how much you can save per transaction. Those other jerks were tying up this space with information about girls and stuff.
[blue]Greetings,
I've received so many complaints about thie report that I'm just going to post my standard response here and spare myself all the time responding individually:
I reviewed the report and I agree that the author was somewhat abrasive in making his point. However, as a technical matter, I didn't actually read anything in the report that would constitute a violation of the Forum's No SPAM Policies. Specifically, I did not actually find any derogatory or racist words that by themselves would be violations of the Forum's Policies.
I appreciate that you personally may be somewhat offended by the author's perspective, but I'm sure that you can also appreciate that the very nature of the WSG Forum requires that the readers keep their "sensitivity radars" turned down.
I encourage you to continue monitoring this member's reports, and if he begins posting more offensive material, please let me know and I will take the appropriate action.
Thanks,
Jackson[/blue]
