Hi All,

I have been in the game for a number of years. I've played all around the world. Asia, Africa, EU, SA, NA, Aus. Since the pandemic my travel for business has been limited. So I have been going to the DR 5 trips in the 2023 2 in 2024. I've been here before COVID a few times as well. Know and like the scene in POP, STI, and north coast.

My question to the older pros (Mr International, Grown Man, others). Is the game organized? Is it organized by city, Provence, or the entire country. Yes I know there are plenty of Indies and Casas (like BlackBeards). But is it organized like in other parts of the world.

Also how bad is the gang presence? It looks like there are some that have stables, but I could be reading the signs wrong. I see some chica pics with the king or Queen crown watermark. Is that for Latin Kings affiliation?

I have never had a problem in the DR or anywhere else in the world for that matter. I just want to know the score.

The only gangs are drug affiliate. The sex trade has so many freelancers that its hard to control. Selling pussy is legal. Being a pimp or middle man is illegal. How Black Beards stays in business is a serious mystery to me. Never the less there a few Ho houses scattered around. Sosua and back in the day Boca Chica were magnets for sex trade. I have never seen any sex trafficing iin my years of going to DR. Mostly unwed mothers trying geting money for their kids.

I am aware that ACH money transfer apps like CashApp, Venmo, and others don't work in the DR. They require a US Bank Account. There are ways around this but it's a headache. I'm wondering if anyone has experience using a crypto currency in the DR? Can you convert crypto to pesos or USD?

Cash is excellent when you are under the radar, but carrying a knot of pesos around is a pain in the ass. It would be great to be able to pay for taxis, food, other stuff with crypto. It would limit the number of visits to the ATM.

Any comments are welcome.

I'm not aware of a reliable service to send and receive crypto. Exchanges are going down left and right, plus the price of crypto vs the dollar fluctuates wildly on a daily basis. With KYC, the entire process would be a massive burden. You can use credit cards with Paypal. That's probably your best bet. Otherwise just ask for your Dominican pesos in 2,000 denominations only. Those are the largest notes they make, and you'll wind up breaking change with your transactions.

I am coming to visit in a few days. Is it possible to get most medications over the counter in the DR? I take an ED medication which requires a shot w / a needle. I have a prescription for the medication which I got online but didn't get a prescription for the needles which I just get online. Can I get those at a pharmacy? Also is it possible to get viagra and cialis at a pharmacy in DR? Thanks.

What medication can you get over the counter in the DR. I am interested in the ED meds and there's a shot I have to give myself w / an insulin syringe.

Also, unless you are able to verify the source, counterfeits are common. Meaning I would only get whatever you are looking for from a pharmacy you can vet. I think your better option would be to get your meds in a country you know that you can get a reliable source from. Unless it's a large quantity, a small vial and a single syringe probably will not be the top priority at customs, though I can't guarantee anything. If it's a long lasting drug, you might be able to inject it before arriving in the DR. Cialis last 48 hours for some people, and that you should have no trouble bringing inside of a prescription bottle. Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive answer for getting meds inside the country, but unless you know of a reliable pharmacy and speak fluent Spanish, it will probably be more of a headache than it's worth.

The whole meds in other countries are suspect is a conspiracy theory hatched by the US pharmaceutical industry to protect their gross profits. The meds bought in the US are invariably made in the same factory as meds bought in Canada, Europe and the DR.

The Dominican Republic is still a cash society. Support that part of the economy. Especially when you are doing business in low places.

Although I have to admit, many like making electronic payments for stuff like that. I guess I am old school and prefer cash. Or maybe, I am just old.

Do you really want to spend your BTC when it still may goto 100000 - 150000 this year? Better to use a stable coin like USDT or USDC. LTC is used in payments a lot also. Buy what you need spot when you need it and spend it. Or get a debt card that you can load USDT or USDC onto it and make payments that way. But I would not use a credit or debt card in the Dominican Republic except at the largest business establishments and never let the card out of your sight.
