one is politics, about two months ago in the cebu daily some female reporter

my take on it is this: lots of these sites are run by foreigners living in the phils and working out of their house or apt with their wife/gf and a few local dolly's, they aint paying any swag to the locals like everyone else in some sort of "porno" racket does, when the police are not gettin' their cut they get real righteous. about six months ago a foreigner got busted in lapu lapu city, all over the news, same stuff, web cams in house, three girls busted, blah blah blah, neighbors turned him it, whatever.

last year in manila the cops made national news when they busted two dutchmen for running a site out of their house, for some reason they shot and killed one guy, either as a warning or because he stopped paying, whatever.

The operator of the service could have just sent a girl over going by the name you expected like most services would do in the states. gentlemen you must realize this whole row over cyber porn is about the money. It seems that whenever the PI is faced with a "morality" situation the game plan is to pass a law that can be enforced gratuitiously and punish the business ie the internet cafe. Here are a few examples:

All internet cafes in Toril (Davao) were fined for having "private" booths which of courdse were more likely to be used for "flashing" activities.

All internets with web cams were required to tape them to the monitor so they could not be used by the girls to show under their skirts wala panties.

Internets are not allowed to have students present during school hours 7 am to 5 PM, even though school lets out at 3 pm.

None of these laws prevent cyber sex from going on. I used to laugh everytime I went into one and saw some girl (her friends gathered around) staring laughing and joking about some foreigner yanking his crank to an audience, school kids hovering in the background for their view.

Lately Cebu has considering passing a law outlawing private booths and fining internets that do not comply.
