Lancer, good posts, that is partially why 4x4 didn't connect with me, the almost assembly-line like feel to the place. FKKs in Germany had same effect on me, but I know many connoisseurs love these spots. In terms of efficiency and going into a safe controlled atmosphere Termas are great. You don't have to think and negotiate, zero worrying about safety. I did the math a few times, and the sheer number of clients they see, working often 6 days a week, the timed sessions...I can't get as excited about it as hiring a girl for a few days or meeting independent girl in a club. The experience sometimes leaves you realizing you are definitely involved in sex tourism.

I give 4x4 big credit for running a tight operation. Nice to know you can arrive on a plane and they will be open, they can be counted on and I respect what they've done. Just watch your head coming up the stairway ;-)

Great Post Lennox. I could not agree more about your view on 4X4. Similar to you, I like 4X4 and there are some great looking girls there. I too fell the assembly line nature of the business but not just at 4X4 but at all of the termas. Like Help, I think the Termas provide a important service. I usually make at least one stop at 4X4 on my trips to Rio and if Help really does close I might have to go more often.

Been reading the form for the last couple of days and following very closely on the saga of Help. I for one do not like to see the closing of Help. On my first ever trip to Rio last August, all the girls I brought back to my apartment were from Help. And only one of them was a dud, well a half dud to be exact. Help is a great nightclub. I mean where else in Rio do you have a club full of GDPs waiting to be fuc*ed. And contrary to what a lot of people on this board say, the talent level of the GDPs is top notch. I had no problem finding 7-8/10 GDPs night in and night out.

That being said, I had already finalized my next trip prior to learning this rumor. I call this a rumor because it happens every year, a rumor spreads about Help closing only turns out to be false alarm. This year I'm hoping is no different from the previous years. I will go through with my trip as originally planned as I'm sure there are plenty of venues I can find GDPs outside of Help (Help just makes finding them easier). But I will check this forum frequently for the newest developments.

The point I am trying to make is that I will not be shedding any tears when Help closes down, or even when all the termas follow suit. Rio/Sampa are doing what they are doing for merely political purposes.

Also, realize that Brazil is more than Rio/ Sampa.

You like beach? Go to Vitoria- ES, Salvador-BA, the Nordest, etc. They have it all: sun & fun at much cheaper prices than Rio.

You like big urban cities? Go to Belo Horizonte-MG, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, etc. They also have plenty of fun at cheap prices .

Last Saturday, I was at a baile funk in Nova Holanda. Yes, it is dangerous if you do not know the right people. That's CV territory.

I think a lot of this has to do with Rio's bid to host the Olympics. Can't put on a show for the world with hookers on the main drag! And what about little Johnny athlete after hours? After a night in Help, he's not going to break any records! :-) I don't think that they will bother VM because its off the beaten path. You won't find any news crews there, unless they are there to party.
