Personally I don't consider SW's to be sex slaves. The reason is that if they are on the street they still have the choice to work or leave the area if they choose. They can flag down a cop and tell them that they are being held captive. They may be deported, but it's still their choice. This is one reason why I prefer SW's.

A real slave doesn't go out so freely.

there are probably prostitutes like this, yes. not many though. the ones i've known (admittedly mostly incall, but some off the street) were decidedly streetsmart. it takes some intelligence, a strong personality, and significant "toughness" to be a street prostitute. i think the vast majority aren't kidnapped, raped, and forced to work for free.

If a pimp is threatening to hurt her family she has to 'decide' if she wants to take the chance or not. In the end it still comes down to making a choice.
