As a United States military veteran, that is what we sign up for. As a matter of fact, that is what everyone in any military has ever signed up for; to protect the interest of the person, neighborhood, tribe, country or whatever entity. That interest could be to walk in circles around this mop bucket today, or go try to kill all the mfs on that hill tomorrow. You don't get to pick or choose or go home when it is time to do the part that you do not like.
What if the order is to do something you know to be illegal? For instance, if you know all the mfs on that hill did not and are not posing a threat to you or anyone else in your country as defined in the Constitution of the country to which you have taken. An oath to uphold.
Illegal Orders are given. It is up to the individual not to follow them!

It was not a regular thing but I got them. When I did, I did not argue with the boss who gave the order. I either refused it to his face or ignored it. Each time that happened, I waited for disciplinary action against me that never came. That was all the proof I needed that I was right. I was always willing to look for another job than to face prison.
