Return Trip to PTY in February
Booked at the Eurostars Hotel; based on advice I read on here, Looks to be convenient to Habanos too. A couple questions:
1. I seem to recall you had to pay a tax on entry, something like $10? It's been a while since I've been to Panama, LOL, probably 8 years ago or so.
2. Did I read that the Veneto is closed? There used to be a good line-up of girls in there.
3. I read that La Bocatorena (sp) is open during the day, is that a place for daytime fun?
4. What is the standard taxi rate from the airport to the city center?
Thanks in advance!
December 31st and January 1st.
Hi,
I am going to be in PC the evenings of December 31 and January 1. Does anyone know if Habanos is open both or either of those nights? What other alternatives exist for those specific evenings?
Thanks for the help in advance. Much appreciated!
This casino will not last long
Just stayed at Eurostar Hotel and can confirm that going through the casino and using that elevator avoids the $40 guest fee. First timers to this hotel don't worry, just scout it out beforehand and you'll be fine. Sometimes there's a cop at the casino door but he's not there to charge you a guest fee. Just general security I guess.
This casino used to occupy both the ground floor and the 5th floor. The 5th floor has a large bar and showroom along with some table games and slots. They had daily $5 lunch specials and after-office specials with live music on weekends.
It was a fun place that attracted many locals, but is now closed.
Only the ground floor portion is still open. When I was there in November, the sportsbook was no longer open.
In mid-afternoon the casino was completely lacking customers.
Advise: if you are going to book a room please verify that the casino is still open.
If / when the casino is closed the only entrance will be thru the hotel.
