Your $32 taxi ride a year ago ($90 k at $2800 COP /$1 USD) now actually costs you only $21 ($98 k at $4700 COP /$1 USD). We haven't seen these rates since like 2019. A year ago exchange rate was about 4000 or so, and the airport ride was about 60-65 k pesos or about $15.

By the way, USD has been plummeting vs COP in the last few days. From 4900's to 4600's.

AirBnbs are up 50-100% year over year in certain areas and buildings.

1 year ago exchange rate was around 3800. Last time it was 2800 was summer of 2018. I'm guessing he screwed up punching 3800 into the calculator and didn't realize it.

Taxi from the airport 1 year ago was 90 k. It hasn't been 70 k since 2017.

Taxi rates from the airport are set by the government and go up every year. The same is true for the metered yellow taxis and the airport buses.

If you go upstairs to the departures level you might be able to strike a deal with a yellow taxi dropping someone off.

I'm in Medellin and actually regret not staying longer. You got to put more work in to get what you want, but the option are endless.

I'll leave my full detail report after my trip. Mainly just on my experience and not reviewing the ladies I have seen so far.

I paid $22 a night back November. I'll probably just go the Airbnb route, which is cheaper, but it probably won't be located in El centro.

It is a double edged sword. The more we praise Colombia, the more men come to Colombia, and then it changes and we all complain about it. Ha ha ha. I am relatively new to Colombia myself so I have no right to complain about more guys coming to Colombia.

I have always enjoyed visiting Thailand and the Philippines for mongering but since covid, I have not been back. I have been searching for closer destinations to America. First I went to Costa Rica and then Mexico and now I visited Medellin, Colombia for my past two trips. From the East Coast, Medellin is about 5 1/2 hours or 3 1/2 from Florida so it fits my criteria for a country that is closer to America. From the West Coast, Mexico is closer and if I lived in Texas or California, I would prefer Guadalajara, Mexico due to the flight times and cost but from the East Coast, Medellin is the best bet for best close-by mongering country in my humble opinion. Thailand and the Philippines still have a special place in my heart and I will be back soon when I am ready to take a longer trip.

For those who want to save money, the casas and the streetwalkers in El Centro are a good value. I prefer the girls on Facebook and from the first trip to the second trip, I have been learning a lot and I expect good things on FB for my third trip. Solid GFE sessions with young attractive girls in my hotel room is what I have getting and the price range generally has been 200 to 300 mil for sessions that are 90 minutes to 2 hours. In my own negotiations with FB girls, I start out with 200 mil and some accept but there are number of girls who say no and we end up with 250 to 300 mil plus taxi.

On this website, there has been this debate about older mongers versus younger mongers. I am an older monger in my late 50's. There are enough girls for everyone and we can all enjoy the girls of Medellin. So. I've always based myself in Medellin / Laureles. I just love it there, but I get feeling guilty for not checking out other spots. I've been to Pereira, Cartagena, Barranquilla, and Santa Marta. I'm on my way back in a couple weeks. Anywhere else I should be checking out? I keep hearing about Cucutá, Cali has always been interesting, and prices look REALLY good in Bucaramanga. Or should I just stay in Laureles again?
