Or start from Bogota and hit Tunja, Bucaramanga and Cucuta.

Driving in Colombia is a challenge and can be stressful, but you get to see more that way.

I'm usually based in MDE as well and have been to all the places you mentioned, including Bucaramanga and Cucuta. IMHO, go to Bucaramanga: do not pass go, do not collect 200 mil pesos. Good luck! PrEP pills. You can read about it on the internet. I actually have more concerns about catching STDs when I bareback. Herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis are real risks. The more you bareback, the more likely you will eventually catch something. Just the nature of the beast. If you really want to minimize catching something, one strategy would be to have the girl take a STD and HIV test and then spend your trip with your special tested girl or two. If you do that, you don't have to have the criteria of kids, etc. So far I have been lucky and have tested negative after two trips in Medellin with barebacking.

Truvada, Biktarvy, Apretude, Cabotegravir shot, etc. Do some research to mitigate your risk.
