There has been some recent reports on the usesexguide san diego Tijuana thread of increased police shakedowns. I visit Tijuana about once or twice a week and have not seen any police shakedowns. LE seems to to be mainly stopping the drug dealers. So it is a good idea to use increased caution. Does anyone else have any info. ?

Daytime is likely to be able to more easily get away with it, but not so at night, especially late into the evening.
Your room occupancy booking most likely will be only for two people, so three in a room, and using facilities (towels, etc) costs the hotel money.
Most hotels across Thailand that allow a joiner for free, charge for an additional joiner (ie a third party).

The hotel replied back saying 1000 per person even if they come for 30 mins also. So basically 3000 for girl. 1000 bar fine and 1000 hotel fine. Patong hotels suck.

It's not specific to Patong or Phuket, as you would get the same charge from many quality hotels in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok.
I know that, as I have been charged at a few different hotels in Bangkok over the years.
If you want to get around it, just get two room keys, send your wife back early, then come with the working lady.
It's likely then that they won't realise at all that the threesome is happening.
Any tips / recommendations / advice for Kamala area? Patong seems a bit to saturated and busy for my liking so I got a hotel in Kamala instead as it seems to be closer to airport and #3 in terms of a 'fun' area?

I've booked myself a week in Phuket after a quick two day stay in BK.
This will be my first mongering trip to SEA so even though I'm trying to keep my expectations in check I must admit I'm kinda excited.
I have decided to stay in Rawai as hopefully it's got a more chilled vibe than some other places in Phuket and I'm looking forward to buying TGT a beer for all his efforts on this forum!
