Ehunter,
Currently I reside at a Sosua rehabilitation Facility at an undisclosed location. Also there are alot of former ISG members here for treatment. Homeland security has been notified that we are not allowed to board any flights with the Dominican Republic as a destination. Todays speakers are Colombian and Brazilian girls in bathing suits, preaching for their countries as future destinations. No presidente's are served.
How do I get there.
I need to go to rehab - how do I get there.
LOL, you are intent on the demise of So-Sewer............... The Su ain't going nowhere.
I say change you say demise, bottom line Sosua needs a Makeover. New venues, new names, new girls. The only thing new about Sosua is Terra Linda.
Jao made a good point. Not to long ago Sosua had high caribe as the spot, Sabor tells me the palace also was hot back then.Sosua reinvented itself to get where we are now.Time to do it again.Demise noo.
Any vets from back in those days, please tell us what was going on then.Thanks.
Aahh yes I believe I've gotten that brochure recently from homeland security. It was written in spainish and Portuguese and it was stating how the girls are cheaper in Columbia and the asses are phatter in Brazil. And because of that "SO-SOWER" should be ban from your future travel destination.
BUT the brochure forgot about notifying people that the flights are around 1500 dollars round trip. Ooh and you have to get a visa which cost another 200 just to touchdown in the country. Needless to say I burned the brochure. I'm still in my cheap bastard mode and in-love with the dominician/haitian culture.
I second that!

Jao
Terra Linda's owners are from Miami. However, they may be Puerto Rican.
And how about Jihad who owns Seabreeze. He is also from Miami but clearly not native. But then no one, here in Miami, is a native.
The white hotel across from NG is doing good biz with German tourists.
Lou who owns the Shark Bar is a New Yorker.
Derrick who owns Big D's is from Atlanta.
Fred who owns Cuba Libre is americano but I don't know from where.
And I'm wondering if the arrest of Armando is related to the killing of the Portland lawyer.

Thanks, I had read that owners of terra linda were puerto rican guys who used to own the Met Supermarkets in New York. The Cuban guys who own 305 in Santo Domingo live in miami, I was told.
I read about that American guy who was shot and killed in Sosua recently, supposedly nothing was stolen from the guy's house. That guy Armando was never simpatico with me.
And I'm wondering if the arrest of Armando is related to the killing of the Portland lawyer.
Good article about the American guy who was killed in Sosua, in English: http://www.oregonlive.com/business/index.ssf/2010/06/tarlows_slaying_raises_questio.html
Armando is one of the owners of the Sosua Bay Hotel, Classicos and the new casino. The American guy who was killed and his partners had invested 1.8 million dollars into the casino. They were fighting Armando in Court for control of the hotel and casino.
Armando would be a prime suspect, someone you are fighting in court turns up dead, makes you a suspect.
And I'm wondering if the arrest of Armando is related to the killing of the Portland lawyer.
I would never go into Classicos again and I would never stay at the Sosua Bay Hotel as long as that guy Armando is the owner of those places. Armando was not friendly when I said hello to him a few times and now it appears he is involved with the murder of an American lawyer in Sosua.

Classico's
The police arrested a foreigner there, not Armando or anyone connected to the bar. It had something to do with a woman, he is already out.

When was your first trip to Sosua? I made my first visit May 2005 and a quick drive through in May 2010. Things are basically the same. A few new bar names, different hotel names, more putas and more mongers with fewer regular tourists.
You want change? You need to change your location cuz the town of Sosua ain't gonna change.
Within a year I did four trips to Sosua (2005). I needed a change so I tried a trip Boca Chica/Sosua. In Boca Chica I found the cute chicas with sailor outfits, a new friend nipple lady and a different scene. Little did I know that was the beginning of the end of Sosua for me. Trip six to rep dom I went to Boca Chica/Santo Domingo. Hitting Santo Domingo nailed the coffin shut on my Sosua days. Once I hit SD I had no desire to return to Sosua.
In 2005 as mentioned John's Palace was the spot. Europa also was one of the main hotels to stay at. New Garden was under a different name and chica friendly but few guys knew about the place. One Ocean Place was the best low key chica friendly hotel. Lou's Shark Bar was on the beach. SeaCrets was preparing to open. You could roll out of your bed anytime at night and just about all the bars were open. No curfew in them days.
I have nothing against Sosua the way it is. I think the city is great for guys who like the wild west atmosphere of Sosua. Just my two pesos but I don't think Sosua needs to change a thing. Sosua will continue to survive just the way it is. NO makeover necessary.
Is the Magic Man still in town? Maybe he can help with the makeover.....

Is the Magic Man still in town? Maybe he can help with the makeover.
My first trip to Sosua was in 06. My dad and his brothers/buddies had been going to BB for years. Before 06 I didn't even know where the Dominican Republic was. My first trip was to BB and I loved it.
My Dad was doing a Grand opening for the biz in Cabarette. He was dissappointed because I hadn't taken an interest in the biz. We had a falling out, my credit card was shut down because I rented a car, and I had to much pride to ask anybody for anything.
After the grand opening everybody went to Classicos, my cousin and I had these two cuties. Its 3am we got girls and liquor and I'm ready to party. My cousin wants to go play in the ocean(at 3am)with these girls. I said fuck this and took the liquor and went to my room solo. An hour later one of the girls knocks on my door saying for a hundred dollars I can have her. I was broke, but said I was tired.
Well I'm eating breakfast and my cousin comes down with both chicks smiling. Everybody is looking at me like "WTF'. Everybody started ripping me, and I ripped back. We almost had a family riot at that breakfast table. I walked away, and went to Sosua and they didn't hear from me for months. Everybody eventually reconciled, but I was hooked on Sosua.
...But other Germans in Sosua seem distant. Maybe it steams from my desire to meet people from other countries, but Germans in Sosua don't appear receptive to this view.
I forgot to add this to my previous message, and most will find it appalling, as I did, bit it is true. I seem to remember a LAW in Germany that pertains to Low income earners, whereas these low income people are entitled to a vacation the same way as a person with a stable decent-earning job. The country gives those people money to take a vacation!!! This makes it even easier to understand why Germans are so well traveled.
Anyway, about your observation with Germans being distant.... Not only do non-Germans feel this way about them, but the Germans also agree they are this way themselves in their own country!!! LOL
It is carry over mentality that is hundreds of years old. Without getting into their history, Germans don't like associating outside their own immediate circles because it imposes commitments that come with the relationships that they rather not put energy into. Those commitments take away their time and use energy in ways which they don't think is "efficient".
In General, the shorter the term of the "value" commitment, the more likely it is you will get shunned. So dont take it personally because the Germans do this quite commonly to themselves too!
