That's what I said. If you marry her, legally, you can likely do it.

I took an ex-GF to Canada in 2001, (who was a dirt-poor Isaan farmgirl), without marrying her. But, I only managed to do it with considerable difficulty even with all the advantages of the following:
1/ Good Job: My GF worked in my university's office.
2/ Connections: She got a recommendation from the vice-rector of the university who was well-connected to the Thai Ministery of Education.
Also, my family, who are reasonably well-off, and who at the time were well connected to the ruling Liberal Government sent a letter of sponsorship.
The Liberal MP from my family's riding in Toronto and a close friend wrote a letter, as well.
3/ I am a professor at a university in Thailand and this is seen as a trustworthy and respectable job - i.e. I'm not some sex-tourist who's fallen for some P4P spinner, he's just met.
4/ We had lived together for 2 years.
She still had to go through 2 interviews and besides the above sponsorships, I also had to sign a letter of financial support for her.
In the end, she did get a 3 month visa.
She's now married to a Brit, who bought her a house in Bang Lamung, near Pattaya and as a result of the marriage and the house, she can get a visa to anywhere she wants.

So it appears that a guy must pay a very large price (marriage) to get a visa for his tilak BG. :)

I don't believe them. There's no short-cut. The only thing I can think of is that in certain cases, they may be able to arrange a student visa to study a language of some sort, if the girl is young enough (quite easy, actually). But, that would require enrollment in a legit school and hefty tuition fees.
A friend of mine from the US used an immigration lawyer to get his wife into the US. They had lived together for a couple of years, and had been married for about 6 months before they applied. But, it still took him almost a year before he could get her visa sorted out so that she could move to the US. Admittedly, she was moving there, not visiting, which was more significant. But, still given she was never a BG, (she was working at Robinson's, when they met) and the fact they had been together for quite awhile, it still proved to be tough going.

Have a Thai female friend who is going thru the process right now with a guy from the UK. She is a waitress - totally legit - she has had to get her boss to sign off on her resume/salary, shown 3 months of phone calls to this guy, shown her residency history with proof - and on his side he has to show his phone bills as well, his employment history/salary and so on. Then she has to be interviewed solo at the Embassy which is where if you are a bar girl they will almost certainly catch you out and deny the visa. Another friend from the UK successfully did it with his girlfriend of 4 years but it took a while and he was rejected the first time and had to appeal. Both women have children which may help as they will have to come back to them at some point.

It's quite easy to get tourist schengen visa for 3 months if you have good incomes like I have at least to scandinavia. Girls were 19-24 years old and not bar girls. 2 student and 1 has her own company. Healt insurance is not expensive and your girl get it from Thailand. At embassy in Bangkok they ask everything from your girlfriend. Where you meet and how long you have known each others etc. I hope your girlfriend don't tell that we know each others 8 days and we meet at eden club in Pattaya. Without going into a long draw out detail on this subject, I sugguest anyone buying health insurance within a country like Thailand to seriously read the fine print! I wouldn't go with cost alone! I can't speak for the Philipines but I can speak for insurance being purchased in Thailand, thinking you can use it in a country like U.S. and Europe you're in for a big surprise.
Like in Thailand, the coverage is based on the baht! so a Thai policy says you are cover up to 2,000 baht for treatment in a emergency room how far you think that is going to get you in the U.S. or Europe base on their cost of medical treatment?
Thinking of travel insurance! higher coverage but still if you are in a major accident you might as well be dead unless you are rich. And if you were you wouldn't need medical or travel insurance at all. Most travel insurance being purchased in Thailand has a max coverage of 150,000 baht in the fine print. Last year, living in Thailand now and missing skiing alot and was going home for the holidays was thinking of going skiing so I decided to look into a policy. After reading the fine print, if I break my leg the coverage wouldn't come close to covering the expenses.
Read the fine print and base the coverage on currency of the country you plan on visiting or vacationing!
