Just because I'm scammed by my government doesn't mean I'm open to being scammed on vacation. Don't try to justify or downplay one wrong by pointing out something else is more wrong.
If this forum was designed to talk about rugby and we criticize the Philippines, you'd have a point another us bashing the country. But this is the Philippines subsection of a mongering forum. A discussion of Philippine culture is highly relevant in maximizing our enjoyment and avoiding pitfalls in this thoroughly miserable country where a vast majority want to escape.
"avoiding pitfalls in this thoroughly miserable country where a vast majority want to escape"
First the pitfalls are well covered in these forums only add real experiences not hearsay
If it so miserable why do you visit here?
No one I know living here wants to escape, please show me where the vast majority are packing up and leaving.
I repeat again your negative attitude about PI is getting tiresome. Either add real experiences, photos or real reports about sex as it is called "internationalsexguide" for a reason

Scamorama
Scams go with the territory. If not, I suggest you find another sport. As far as scams are concerned, Cebu is tame compared to places like Havana, Cuba. Personally, I expect the hustle from the bargirls. I expect to be approached everyday with some sob story or half-assed swindle. My metaphor is the running back with a football in his hands. I'm trying to score. Getting offended by someone trying to tackle me isn't going to get me over the goal line. Sure, I get a little pissed on occasion when the hustle is on. However, all is forgotten when I have a beautiful 90lb Pinay licking my balls. So, let's get back to the game and move the ball in the right direction.
How do you avoid pitfalls by saying that Philippines is a scam based culture?
Did I say everyone in the Philippines is out to scam me? I've stated many times that a majority of people are good. Nevertheless, there's nothing wrong with sharing strategies to avoid the few bad apples.
Saying that the culture has a lax work ethic, which has been one of my claims all along, does not mean I believe the culture is generally criminally-minded.

Changing Horses.
Here's a story from Cebu that some senior member might appreciate. I was meeting a DIA contact at the SM mall for lunch. She brought her drop dead gorgeous 19 yo cousin. Who was from the province. This cute little cousin didn't speak much English but she was sure nice to look at. As my DIA contact and I chatted over lunch, two things became obvious. First of all, my DIA friend wasn't interested in making my bed and her cute cousin was impressed with my cheap Nokia cellphone. At the end of lunch, I didn't beat around the Bush. I took a chance and asked that cute little cousin if she'd like a cellphone in exchange for an afternoon of naughty fun. To my suprise, the DIA contact didn't seem at all offended, when her cousin agreed. She just left the restaurant after I promised I'd take good care of the little darling. After waving goodbye it was off to the store. I spent a little over 1000 ph on the phone and sim. Then it was off to the Alpa Suites to unwrap my new toy. I have to admit, that little country girl was a dream. Petite and tight was the best way to describe her. It was funny how she kept wanting to do it doggie style so she could play with her new toy. I didn't mind because her perfect bottom was a treat to look at while I pounded her little pussy. When she left, I gave her an extra 500ph for transportation and load. Well worth it. I love this game!

Some Info
1. Also Avoid easter week, I wasted 3 days of my trip because of this. Yikes. Was suprised Thursday and Friday were the worse day but easter Sunday almost everything open.
2. Some one talked about protection advice. I just found the best thing its call a Screach alarm. Man its loud and small. I think between that and my pepper spray. I can hold off the ladyboys. Maybe even the kid gangs that hang out around the sogo. Accross the street there is places for them to hang out at night. This is where I see all the purse snatches as well.
If I ever move to cebu, I am bringing Cans of bears spay and and AK, just like the security guards. Rarely do people mess with someone that owns an ak47.
3. The scam does get old, my first trip I was just amused by it, my second trip It started to [CodeWord140] me off. But as I told one guy, it is not like these people are rocket sceintist, You can usually see it coming a mile away.
My gf wonder why I would get upset the taxi driver was trying to screw me. I asked her is she would get upset if it was her getting screwed and she said of course she would. WTF. I guess I am a big white atm machine. Good thing I dumped her.
4. The downtown area did not seem as loaded as I heard with working girls. I did see some, most I wouldn't fuck or touch. I few cuties. But mostly low quailty street walkers.
5. I am preparing for my next trip and I am looking to add to my list of pay4play girls on Dia, If anyone wants to exchange 5 to 10 dia names of girls who are wiling to pay 4 play. I have a good size list.
Happy hunting guys I love cebu, not to big but lots of available action. And you can find gf types if you want. As well as one of the most affordable cities in the world. I met a guy my last trip from the uk that lived on 500 pesos a day.

Ok ok I rtff
I have been to Manila and AC a few times. This is my first trip to CEBU. I have looked and looked and did not see any places like LA CAFE that are a must to go to. So let me ask this. WHat are a few of the good pick up bars? Are there Go go bars in cebu? And where can I find the 18 year old girls at? So maybe a few massage parlors and what not. So if you have a minute maybe give me a little "to do" list to go by.
I also like lotus and city garden hotel in manila. Is there anything of that nature in Cebu?
Thank you.

The main pickup place in Cebu seems to be Juliana's disco, in Mango Square. Its got a combo of freelancers and regular girls and guys there to drink and dance. Bunch of gogo bars on Mango; tell the taxi driver to take you to Vikings bar (about 6 gogo bars right next to each other). The barfine there is about p1800. If you want cheap street girls, either the downtown corner of Colon / Paleaz streets, or the Junquera basketball court.
WHat are a few of the good pick up bars?
Any of the various discos at Mango Square or IT Park.
Are there Go go bars in cebu?
There is a cluster of go go / bikini bars on Mango Avenue also known as Gen. Maxilom
And where can I find the 18 year old girls at?
Virtually everywhere but start at Mango Square or the malls. Be careful and check ID's if need be. .
So maybe a few massage parlors and what not.
Meridian or Duke's Spa.
I also like lotus and city garden hotel in manila. Is there anything of that nature in Cebu?
Cebu Grand, Crown Garden, Century Plaza and Diplomat on the cheaper end. Elizabeth, Parklane and Crown Regency Fuente on the upper end.

Cebu
I can only add to advice below which is right on. Pumps 1, mixer of koreans, regulars and pros. Another disco called sunflower have not bee there but heard more towards a date place until late. Cebu in mostly strip jionts. As said bar fine 1, 800. 00 peso, Short time or long. Taxi money home if needed. Go to SM, Robinson, and Ayala malls. During the day. Sit at coffe shops and watch the eye candy. You will see the pros and the curious. You have a great hotel list allready Hi end and normal price. I like cebu. It is not as crowded as manila, you can be out in the country in 30 minutes north south or moutians to the east. But it has everything minila does. Except 2 million homeless kids living on the street. Which just is depressing to see all the time. It is in cebu but so little you have to look for it.
When leaving the airport. Go out the doors all the way to the right. Go up the stairs and stand in line for the metered cab. They actually give you a fair shake in Cebu.

And in Cebu do not try speak Tagalog

For this reason, I'd recommend getting a "white" taxi unless there are none available and you don't want to wait for one.
