Check-Mig flight numbers Another heads up
The biggest issue with CheckMig can be the flight numbers. A workaround for this can be to not check the box saying your on a commercial flight but on a private flight so you can proceed thru the form. And yes you need Checkmig to depart but way easier then for entering.
One additional heads up on entering flight numbers in CheckMig IF you are changing planes in Bogota en route to (or home from) Medellin, then you need to enter the flight number for the flight into Colombia (arriving Bogota) or leaving Colombia (from the capital) --NOT the connecting flight to / from Medellin. I've never had a real problem with CheckMig, but this wrinkle slowed me down one time when I was leaving here in Medellin for a week of work in El Salvador and changing planes in Bogota. My flight number got rejected by CheckMig until I realized that I had to enter the international flight, NOT my departing flight from Medellin.
Pretty obvious, in retrospect. Makes sense.
Happy trails to voyagers one and all, be they returning or exiting Paraíso Paisa (be it by air or between two welcoming thighs).
Check MiG form discussion
All this talk about the checkmig form.
Honesty, if it's that difficult for you to fill out correctly, you really should consider whether it's a good idea or not for you to visit Colombia at all LOL..
Thank you for your continued interest in helping the ISG community solve this Check Mig issue. We couldn't have made the strides toward solving this issue without your keen insight. I just can't thank you enough for the empathy that you have shown for others. Your thoughtfulness does not go unnoticed.
For those of you that completed the Check Mig form and got the email I say good for you! I thought I filled out the form correctly and entered my email address correctly but I could have possibly made a mistake. I don't recall seeing a download form option. I'm going back to Medelland and with God as my witness I'm going to be an expert on Check Mig. Maybe I won't be an expert in 6 months, a year, or even 2 years, but I'm going to get to the bottom of this hell or high water.
I went round and round with American Airlines and I Fly over this Check Mig issue. I'm polite and persistent but I failed miserably. No amount of talking or persuasion works on this Check Mig form. It really is no ticket no laundry!
