Bangkok Reports

These are places I visit on every trip and this year so far have been to BKK 4 times already. Soi 11/1 - Bo Massage the therapists are trained from what Po, prices a bit higher but the service was quite good, I have had foot, shoulder, thai and oil massage here. The other go to choice for me on Soi 11 across from Grand Mercure Hotel there is Grace Salon, therapists are all 40 plus but very good massage, ask for Min, Oay etc. Both places are strictly massage. If you want an hour or more of pure bliss go to any of these places.

I checked in around 2 today, and my first outing was a little frustrating. I headed to Erotica barber and massage, not really a lot of erotica. I got a mani in anticipation of activities ahead, the manager was a bit handsy but it seems like a legit place, they did a good job. Would recommend.

One of my massages was ruined by the Indian man next to me who kept complaining that his female massage therapist was not giving strong enough massage. The lady said she was doing as hard as she could and he should have gotten a man therapist. He refused to change therapists, but his mouth never silenced, it was not good for me nor the other customers.

As we visit massage places, keep in mind that our behavior affects other customers' relaxation.

Can someone clarify the confusing thai visa thing? I thought there was this new E visa required since June. But when I go to official website and say tourist for less than 30 days says I don't need anything. Please advise? US citizen.

You need to complete this no sooner than 3 days prior to your arrival. I haven't done it yet, but it is reportedly very simple, just need your passport, flight information, and hotel for the first part of your visit. I set a reminder on my computer for exactly 72 hours prior to my arrival in Thailand. Supposedly you can even do it after arrival at kiosks within the airport, I suspect it is easier in your own home at your own computer.

According to https://www.thaievisa.go.th, USA citizens can stay in Thailand for no more than 60 days without a visa.

What you do need to do is go online and apply for a Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 3 days of arriving.

I've only really seen Thais get overzealous on the first opportunity to just crack some euro over the head usually on an exaggerated accusation something like causing raucous, bill dispute, assault, or breaking property. I saw one go down not too long ago. A Thai man who had zero business honestly getting involved brutally kicked an innocent euro in the head while he was down. I mean he spun that kick from hell come on. You can probably still find the video on social media. It was bad but he got up under his own power glassy eyes and all. I think Thais are are just waiting for a euro to cross that line so they can hand them such a hellacious whooping they have to take it go. I'm not going to wax poetic on good behavior on a forum like this but what I can say is you have to be aware of the gang mentality here I can't stress that enough because when a euro is greenlighted everybody and their granny steps up to take a piece of their ass.

US citizen.[/QUOTE]My only additional comment on this is that if you Google "TDAC" you will find sites that will try to charge you for the form. They collect exactly the same information as the official site then send you to a payment page to get the QR code. Entry is FREE, so be sure you are on the government site shown above and not a scam site. Same goes for a bunch of other countries.

Also, there are kiosks to do it when you get off your flight, but there will be a line and you have to do it before you go to immigration. You should absolutely have your QR code and screenshot it before your flight.
