The problem is they sometimes leave stains on fabrics that don't come out in standard cold water wash cycle, such as used at most Thai laundries. If you get that stuff on your clothes, I recommend you pretreat/scrub the stains before you send to the laundry. Good water based lubricants (e.g., KY Liquid or Astro Glide Gel) are almost as good as silicone and they don't give problems in the laundry. Don't expect any water based lubricant to last through 20 minutes of pumping the old gal before dumping.
