My feedback. On skin color or country?
Hi, thank you for your detailed and insightful report. I like the details provided, and how honest you were in your experiences.
I have read in numerous postings and also seen YouTube videos about the rejection some men of color can face in Thailand. I want to state that I am not trying to start a debate on racism, in any way. My personal opinion is that a lady is absolutely free to choose who she will be with in an intimate setting, and some women are attracted to certain types. However, being treated differently in a shopping mall, restaurant or business setting is just wrong.
I do want to politely ask how you were treated in the soapy massage parlors? For example, if a non-Thai, non-Caucasian male went to higher end soapy massage like Tara, LaBelle, Addict massage, etc. Would he be treated well or would some ladies reject him also because of his background? When you walked past the massage parlors on some streets did the ladies call out "massage" to you or ignore you.
I appreciate your feedback and feedback.
Racism = prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
Racism is a prevalent problem in Thailand, though it is infrequently discussed publicly and the country lacks specific legislation on racial discrimination. Discrimination manifests in various forms, including colorism, stereotypes against different ethnic groups and migrant workers, and institutional practices.
Old School Experience in Patpong Dive Bar
I'm not a two-week millionaire on a short-time Asian sex holiday. I'm simply a Western retiree with a modest pension who lives in the Philippines full time. I do not lack for local "options" but I like to sexplore in other places. I'm not poor and / or cheap, but need to feel I'm receiving fair value in exchange for the money spent. I'm a moderate drinker and voluminous talker.
What a great report for this guy's first post here. Kudos for the description of an experience that's a bit off the beaten path, written with some style.
Bangkok curiously difficult
Still having a hard time landing anyone on ThaiFriendly, or Seeking, and wondering if it's my beard. Or maybe it's how I reach out to the girls? I use the same script as in Europe and LatAm, which usually gets to the money discussion in 2-3 steps. On ThaiFriendly, the girls aren't even reading my messages (and it's so hard to find any that are actually hot). On Seeking, same issue finding actually hot girls, and I'm getting numbers but there's no engagement after the messaging part. Is it just because there's too many guys here, or is it my beard?
Beard wasn't a problem when I went out to the gogos last night for the first time. Tons of women grabbing me, trying to get me into their club. Freelancers outside Nana too. Some of the girls outside Nana were actually hotter than the girls inside. And Billboard, despite everyone talking about how great it is, not a single girl caught my attention from 8-9 pm on a Monday. I was in there for a solid 50 minutes. Going to try again tomorrow, but main takeaways from that first evening are (1) Thai girls look weird, their body shapes are weird, faces are weird and (2) it's better to walk around Nana and outside Nana to find what you like. There were a bunch more bars inside Nana that seemed more promising than Billboard, but still really hard to find hot girls when compared to European or LatAm visual standards.
Initial impression is that Bangkok is best for low optics expectations, low prices and more pros than civilians. At least this time of year.
