No problem at Warm Spa or Muong Thanh (she gave me short BBBJ when trying to convince me to pay for that service), or Dodo, or any of the other places whose names I can't remember. They literally bathe you right before (at LC) so not sure how hygiene could be an issue.

I stopped by 8 Fantasy Massage earlier this week on Soi Sukhumvit 8.

I went here last year for the first time and there was multiple attractive girls to choose from. I thought I had found a good place.

I stopped by here again earlier this year and thought I must have come at a bad time because only a few girls and none attractive enough.

Because it is pretty normal for most shops to only have a few girls available in the afternoons in particular, maybe even till 5-6 pm. I won't slate somewhere because of that. You could always book the day in advance to get a particular girl. Also on the flip side if you go at peak time on a Saturday night for example, girls could be occupied.

It's just supply and demand, although I do think personally as tourist numbers slumped in 2025, a lot of these places are equally suffering. Also I think they are struggling to recruit "skilled workers".

On the shower thing, any Thai girl I've met in or out of Sex work has been OCD on cleanliness, in my hotel or at a friends' they take 30 minutes plus in the shower, 2-3 times a f'ing day!

I've always been directed to the shower at at MP shop, always even if I had been myself, it's just the done thing, manners as well and respect. Almost always a joint shower which is thoroughly enjoyable anyway so in no way a hardship!

That being said, I have noted a significant uptick in such requests from Thai girls as well as it being nearly standard practice for foreign girls (Viets, Uzbeks, Africans). Especially for OG Vets, requests for upfront payment were often considered as a red flag. Once money changed hands the girl might have less incentive to provide good service or worse might renege on agreed terms (eg bareback), so there was a maxim that said "Never Pay Before You Play".

The reality with Thai girls is that this phenomenon is being driven by an increasing number of punters who don't pay. They treat the post-pay situation as an opportunity to cheat the girl of payment, claiming that they thought the situation was a normal pickup or worse saying after "you didn't do so-and-so therefore I don't pay". This is why go-go bars more often than not collect both the barfine and the girl's fee at the bar. That almost never happened in the past, but it sure as hell does now and I have seen many reports of go-go girls refusing to go with guys who won't prepay. In addition, there are certain demographics of "high quality" sex tourists well known for their uber aggressive negotiation tactics and penchant for payment issues (they usually end up featured on Pattaya News articles).

So sharing a tactic which can defuse this tricky Mexican standoff. If a girl requests pre-payment in the room, I will calmly but firmly say NO. If the girl insists, as a compromise I will take out the full agreed payment, show it to the girl and say (or translate) "this is yours AFTER we finish". Then I will put the money on the table and place the TV or aircon remote on top so we can both see the money isn't going anywhere. As an added touch, I will say (or translate) "if service good, I give tip". Of the maybe 15 times I have had to go through this routine with both Thai and foreign girls, only twice did it fail and I simply picked up the money, put on my pants, said forget it and walked out the door. When a red flag turns into a flashing light, I would rather be out the 300 bhat for the short time room than deal with an overly difficult provider. On the positive side, although I would have rather avoided the negotiation in the first place, this tactic has enabled some superb sessions with girls who just needed to be assured that they would get paid for services rendered. And payment in full is always a guarantee with me for services fairly rendered. For consideration. It might salvage the situation. Enjoy BKK, AR.

Sometimes, more often than not, we are the victims of our own punters.
