340
I went to Nana Plaza earlier tonight. I can confidently say this is the last time I will go there.
I went to Lollipop. My water plus one lady drink was 340 baht. The best looking girl on the stage was only a 6. 5/10. She was asking 5000 for her fee plus 1000 to the bar. I declined and left, although I did get her Line.
340 is quite reasonable. Did the girl give good lap dance and kissing. Planning to visit this place.

All are way better than Lollipop.
...
I started walking through the girls and I honestly could have picked the first one I saw, but I made myself keep walking. I made it about 15% of the way through the entire lineup when I saw a girl who was just too cute to decline. (BTW, I am very strict about looks. I don't go with any overweight girls or any girl below a 7 on my personal scale). This girl was rail thin with a cute smile with braces. Says she was 29, but could pass for 22 in my eyes. My initial offer was 3000 and she accepted.
...
Just to note (and YMMV), in my experience, most of the women at Thermae will accept 2500.
Going to head to Thailand soon. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but when walking up to a freelancer, how do you start the conversation? Seeing some videos, I'm worried I might mistaken a normal girl with a working girl?
What's your opener?
I start by asking her name, in Thai (it's easy). Then I tell her my name.

If it is the prices that you don't like, perhaps Nana Plaza go go bars are wrong for you. There are many other lower priced options. I normally figure 5500 to 6000 baht total expenses on nights I take a go go girl. That included drinks, tips, bar fine, tuk tuk, and her fee. I tend to buy few drinks, but I'm a big tipper. The best spent tips have been given to mamasan, she is the one who seems to direct the girls to treat me right. A big tip to mamasan tonight helps make things good tomorrow. But, it takes lots of tips over long period of time to build favored status with mama. You cannot get that status with more than 1 or 2 mamas unless you live in town and spend lots of money.

I slaughter the language so badly that they don't understand me. Rising pitch, falling pitch, steady pitch, long sounds, short sounds. They all make a difference. I ask about rice and they think I'm talking about a mountain.

Vietnamese scares me equally (even though the alphabet is similar to ours, and words are generally no longer than five to six letters) . With 6 tones plus the accented letters to pronounce it's a nightmare. And having an attractive VN teacher is a constant distraction.
I'm terrified of asking a stranger something banal like the way to a place, and the listener understands I want to fuck his sister.

I'm terrified of asking a stranger something banal like the way to a place, and the listener understands I want to fuck his sister.
Simple solution: next time ask someone if you can fuck his sister, if you want to know the way to a place.

Has Happened For Decades
Agree that requests for money upfront is not only a turn-off, but a possible red flag. That being said, I have noted a significant uptick in such requests from Thai girls as well as it being nearly standard practice for foreign girls (Viets, Uzbeks, Africans). Especially for OG Vets, requests for upfront payment were often considered as a red flag. Once money changed hands the girl might have less incentive to provide good service or worse might renege on agreed terms (eg bareback), so there was a maxim that said "Never Pay Before You Play".
The reality with Thai girls is that this phenomenon is being driven by an increasing number of punters who don't pay. They treat the post-pay situation as an opportunity to cheat the girl of payment, claiming that they thought the situation was a normal pickup or worse saying after "you didn't do so-and-so therefore I don't pay". This is why go-go bars more often than not collect both the barfine and the girl's fee at the bar. That almost never happened in the past, but it sure as hell does now and I have seen many reports of go-go girls refusing to go with guys who won't prepay. In addition, there are certain demographics of "high quality" sex tourists well known for their uber aggressive negotiation tactics and penchant for payment issues (they usually end up featured on Pattaya News articles).
So sharing a tactic which can defuse this tricky Mexican standoff. If a girl requests pre-payment in the room, I will calmly but firmly say NO. If the girl insists, as a compromise I will take out the full agreed payment, show it to the girl and say (or translate) "this is yours AFTER we finish". Then I will put the money on the table and place the TV or aircon remote on top so we can both see the money isn't going anywhere. As an added touch, I will say (or translate) "if service good, I give tip". Of the maybe 15 times I have had to go through this routine with both Thai and foreign girls, only twice did it fail and I simply picked up the money, put on my pants, said forget it and walked out the door. When a red flag turns into a flashing light, I would rather be out the 300 bhat for the short time room than deal with an overly difficult provider. On the positive side, although I would have rather avoided the negotiation in the first place, this tactic has enabled some superb sessions with girls who just needed to be assured that they would get paid for services rendered. And payment in full is always a guarantee with me for services fairly rendered. For consideration. It might salvage the situation. Enjoy BKK, AR.
This has been happening for decades, a few scumbags ruining it for many punters. The mantra has always been "Pay After", BUT the 2nd verse is "always pay" except in MAJOR breaches. Only one I can ever think of is when LT (all night) gets cut to ST. I'd still pay, just my ST rate. BBBJ becomes CBJ. Pay; no repeat. No morning wake-up. Pay; no repeat. These "clever" boys, think there's no ramifications. But she doesn't keep silent. She goes back and tells all her friends, colleagues, what happened. And then punters wonder "why" - why won't she go with me? Why do I have to pay before? Etc., etc.
Now, if you're known, say a resident, or visiting long enough, you'll be 'known" (one time in DXB, asked a "new face" how much for long time. She looked me directly in the eyes, replying "Why you ask me that? EVERYONE knows you're Mr. 500". The CIA - Chinese Intelligence Agency; no different anywhere. Just like we pass along intel, so do they.) But if you're not known, especially in certain demographics...
And my solution has been the same as you used. Money laid on the coffee table, upstairs to the bedroom (I was a resident). And, like you, the RARE instances it became an issue, and those were FEW and FAR between... back to the bar (I was a gentleman, she got the ride back to the bar, but didn't need any a/c, that's for sure).
And let's be honest here. If the situation was flipped, your job, customer who doesn't pay, doesn't pay the agreed upon amount? Well then, it's "cash in advance prior to commencement of work".

For YEARS, whenever I'd meet a girl named "My", I'd think now who would name their kid "No", perhaps an unplanned pregnancy. Years later I found out that "My", different tone, is "New". Now THAT makes sense, but my poor ears remain clueless.

Smooci experience
Smocci is really good site for booking ladies in Bangkok that are directly available, but what I really don't understand why reading reviews needs a premium account, that's really annoying.
After checking some profile I chose Weeny. She arrived at my hotel on time and she is really a beautiful woman with a great slim body. We talked a bit and her service was very good. But again I like on smooci that all ladies are direct available, but why it coats extra to read reviews there, this I really don't understand.

Your story reminds me of a sketch from Monty Python regarding a fake English. Hungarian phrase book. The Hungarian phrase 'can you direct me to the station' was translated in English as 'please can I fondle your bum'.
