Bangkok Hotels

Hey guys!

Will be making my first trip to Bangkok in Nov. I'm looking at hotels in the Nana Plaza area. I really want a hotel that is 2 guest friendly. I'm not so much worried about a joiner fee for girl #2 as I am having my plans ruined. Ill be staying 6 nights. I'm not that price sensitive, but don't care about luxuries either. I've stayed at shitty hotels in the USA and Europe when necessary. Any recommendations? Everything I've seen on the internet is "a few years ago. " Anyone manage a 3 some recently? I would really appreciate any suggestions!

I took two girls multiple times into Novotel Ploenchit (walking distance to Nana) and no question asked very girl friendly. This hotel have condoms in the room along with other nuts, chocolate items in the bar.

I'm also considering the Dream Hotel but it's a bit further away. Maybe I'll split my time.

Thanks![/QUOTE]Nothing changes much bud! Hotels that were great for 3 some 2 years ago still are good now. I used to use Admiral Premier, near to Cowboy and not too far from MPs.

I recall Tansak took multiple girls to some Hotel in Soi 11 with no hassles. Forget which one. Even the Nana Hotel might be perfect for your purpose. Plenty of sleezy hotels around.

Dream Hotel is fine. No clue how they react to 2 girls though. Never tried it there.

Does anyone know if this hotel is girl friendly? This is now a refurbished hotel under a new brand management. Earlier, president palace which was girl friendly.

Stayed here for a night few weeks back, I got it for US $75 (some promotion was going on).

The hotel is classy and savvy, however they don't call you when the girl departs which is kind of not so good considering the girl might have poisoned you (kidding but there are other measures to count).

A bit far from the happening area but close enough for a Taxi / Tuk tuk. Don't hesitate to try since it's a high-end hotel, completely girl friendly.

N. B. - They take 1 k as security deposit, don't get surprised.

I need a help. I was supposed to travel to BKK along with a friend of mine. But unfortunately he backed out and I am now travelling alone.

The hotel booking was made under his name for 2 rooms but now they got cancelled along with his travel plans.

Can you suggest a 4 or 5 star hotel close to nana / all the action.

I have shortlisted the following:

1. Radisson Blu in sukhumvit.

2. Sheraton grande.

3. Pullman.

4. Centre point on terminal 21.

5. Westin.

Can I please have a heads up. If there are any better ones please suggest.

[/QUOTE]Hey G, I think you will be very happy staying at any of the hotels on your short list (above). That said, I would recommend Radisson Blu, the Westin, and Grand Centre Point T21 in that order based on most bang for you baht (room size and amenities), convenient location, and swimming pool. Again, all 5 are good choices (execpt the Pullman - I hate their swimming pool). I would also add Sofitel Sukhumvit to your list because it is a great hotel too. Bottom line, you should not have to pay more than $110 - $120 for this level of hotel quality. In fact, I often see these hotels priced around and even under $100/night, so shop around the various internet booking sites and find your best deal.

G.[/QUOTE]It appears that you are focused on Nana. There are 3 hotels on Soi 2 that might be right for you. Searching for Sukhumvit hotels using google MAPS (as opposed to simply google which shows you a list and advertising) shows JW Marriott as a 5 star for $137, Majestic Grand as 4 star at $67 and the newest of the 3, Icon as 4 star at $47. I have stayed at Majestic Grande and quite liked it. These are closer to Nana. The passageway to Soi 4 walking past Annie's is now open again so it's an easy walk. You could further research amenities and choose from these. I seem to remember one report that said the rooms at Icon are smallish but I'm not real sure of that.

G.[/QUOTE]I think Sofitel Sukhumvit is very nice. In Sukhumvit I have also stayed in Emporium and Sheraton Grande but Sofitel is something else if you ask me. Modern rooms with wonderful beds, fantastic service, nice swimming pool with bar, great spa, great restaurants, roof top bar and restaurant and the best breakfast in Bangkok.

G.[/QUOTE]Landmark is the closest to Nana and is a nice 5* hotel at 110 $ a night. Continent hotel is also very conveniently located close to Soi Cowboy. I have stayed in both and they are good.

G.[/QUOTE]None of those are close to Nana, they are close to Soi Cowboy. However, any of those is a good choice. I like Soi Cowboy better than Nana anyway. If you want to be near Nana, JW Marriott is great. If you don't want to spend as much money as JW Marriott, you can stay at Landmark near Nana. Another good choice near Nana is Majestic Grande. That one is only about $75 a night.

Am heading over there in August for some fun. Would like some recommendation of hotels that is walking distance to the agogo bars / etc. Won't want to grab a taxi in the middle of the night or early morning for security reasons.

I just booked my hotel room for Bangkok a few days ago for my August trip to Thailand. I did an extensive amount of hours of scouring, and analyzing best location to stay and when it came down to it I felt it was best to stay somewhere that is in between Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza. I also too want to walk to the GoGo bars and not have to jump into cabs late at night. Another important criteria for me was not being too far of a walk from Sukhumvit so I can have the convenience of all the shops, restaurants, on that street. While other hotels such as the Dream Hotel, Fraser Suites, Mavenpick are halfway between Soi Cowboy and Nana they are about a half mile or slightly less from Sukhumvit which is just not convenient. The best hotels that were centrally located between the 2 main gogo areas and close to Sukhumvit (less than 300 m) for this were the following:

5 star Hotel. The Sofitel is the best of all but will set you back about $130 or more with no breakfast included. This is a true 5 star hotel.

4 star Hotels-
Adelphi Suites is where I booked as you can get a large room that is nice and modern and get a package deal with breakfast for under $80 all in per night. I booked through [URL]HotelCombined.com[/URL] via Agoda. I am very happy with my decision.

Four Points Sheraton is also central and near Sukhumvit but the rooms were about $110 per night all in with no Breakfast when I checked. It was my 2nd choice.

Grand Swiss Sukhumvit 11 was my 3 Road choice and has nice rooms all in that start about $75 US dollars per night on up. The location is good but I liked the overall value of the Adelphi better.

If you don't care about being super central in the middle of Soi or Nana, of course there are more great choices like the Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit, Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Radisson Blu, Pullman, and Grande Centre Point Hotel but these are closer to Soi Cowboy. If you look at Hotels closer to Nana Plaza the JW Marriott, Conrad Hotel, and The Oriental seemed like good options. What helped me decide was pulling the hotel up on Google Maps and then zooming in or out and seeing its proximity to Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy in addition to Sukhumvit Rd. Of course price, guest rating, and breakfast should be factored in . Good luck with your search.
