Indeed. 100 baht tip is definitely a big tip. Usually I tip 100 baht to housekeeping staff during the check-out. Rest is between 20-50 bahts depending on the service.

Or is she expected back at at the bar at a certain time and have to leave? Also how will the bar fine play into this?

To cut to the chase, since I am (these days) an infrequent visitor. So I use numbers supplied by expat personal friends living in BKK, expat board members here, and reports by dudes who are in country a lot more than I am these days. I discount numbers posted by first timers or 1 day millionaires.

As everybody knows, I'm "old" and (accordingly) "old school". I would love to return to the days when the gals rarely asked "how much?" That will never happen again. Nor will the days when I might ask "how much? The gal would reply "up to you".

I don't look to "win" a negotiation. A "win-win" is best in my opinion. Makes for a better session.

To address how I negotiate, I let my potential target ask "how much you pay?" Since I still know enough Thai to let them know I'm not a complete idiot or newbie, I often say (in Thai) "I don't know. What do you think?" I will be quoted a price. If acceptable, I nod and say "pai duay". If not acceptable I will feint an expression of shock, smile, and say "Very expensive. Can you go for xxxx baht". At that point, a deal will be stuck or not. I won't negotiate any further. I just say "nice to meet you; maybe I'll see you again" (in Thai). I'the rather go buy a plastic bag of warm, wet chicken parts. 555 Go-go dancers, club gals, and Thermae chicks are not Nong Natt or Miss Tiffany Universe.

I deal with the go go bars the same as I deal with a hardware store, I find what I want and quickly get out. The ongoing big tips to mamasan are an effective way to assist in finding the products that will work best for me (young, slim, pretty, CIP). I've been visiting Nana Plaza for about a decade and there was only one time that I sat with more than one buddy and one girl (3 men, 3 ladies, 2 drinks each), that was the evening that I met my favored mamasan. That evening was an anomaly for me. Normally the bar will collect about 1600 from me per evening (1000 bar fine plus 600 drinks). I'll leave another 1400 baht in the bar as tips to mamasan and my server. The girls don't know that mamasan gets 1000 baht from me. Rarely will other girls get tips or drinks from me.

There is no disrespect for those who like to sit, drink, watch, chat, feel, buy lady drinks and listen to music. I'm sure the employees treat you well, you are important to them. It's a different way to enjoy the go go bars. Spending money like that is likely to result in girls asking for top baht to join in hotel room. I never flash a lot of cash, sometimes I plea poverty to explain why no bar fine tonight. It's also OK to leave the 5000 ST offer behind and go find a different supplier on TF, a beer bar, the street, massage shop or wherever. I know many people enjoy it that way, it's just not for me.

I'm sure the bar owners prefer people that do it your way over the people who do it my way. My favored mamasan and my selected girl probably prefer my way; everybody else in the bar prefers your way.

Even given that, how is a visitor going to develop a relationships inside the bar unless they are frequent visitors? The best and fastest way for a visitor to get what they want in a Agogo is to spend some money. I gave an example of that. I can respect that those who are posted up do things differently. I am a very infrequent visitor to Agogos.

I much prefer the girls who bring me food and drink with me in my room then fuck me silly for a fraction of the price even you spend just in the Agogo. 1000 for mamason; 1600 Bar Bill.
