Consequently, the fire is hungry for oxygen and shooting out of that doorway to find it, so to speak. It was the acoustic foam on the ceiling that carried most of the fire. Not the walls so much, the floor or even the furniture. Video of the room now still shows most of the tables and chairs intact and not burned to ashes.
The acoustic foam on the ceiling caught fire and spread very quickly. As it melted and dripped onto the patrons inside it carried flames to their head, hair, clothes, etc. And as they ran to that one narrow entrance / exit door they carried fire to the hair and clothes of other patrons in the traffic jam. Same for when they ran to the one emergency exit door in the back of the room, which the owner had padlocked to prevent "dash and dine" customers from dodging payment for their food and drinks. The "kindling" in this particular fire tragedy was mostly the acoustic foam on the ceiling and the human beings inside.
