Being back in BKK, I can't make my mind up the difference between now and January. Airport was more crowded this time, the queues to get through passport control were insane! Traffic from airport was gridlock.
BTS has been as crowded as ever as have been the shops. All MP shops I've gone to so far have all had other customers in reception when I've gone in.
Plenty of FL's on the street around the thermae strip despite the weather.
I'd say yes probably a lot of the girlie bars seem quieter as I walk around. Hard to judge what with the weekend that was in it with elections, Sundays are usually quieter too.

There is no avoiding the crowds. Hotel rates may vary between the seasons but early bookings could be a workaround for that. The real difference is weather which is dramatic. You could be dealing with unbearable heat and humidity 24/7, tropical downpours, or pleasant sunny days. All depending on which month you choose the visit. All things being equal (which I think they are) weather is the deciding factor.

The problem is the pricing, it's much more expensive in Pattaya than in Bkk.

To be honest I like the rainy season, sure the rain is even warm!
Now the weekend is over, I have noticed the restaurants are quieter in the tourist zone, I was the only person tonight at 8 pm!
