Hello fellows, as I get closer to my trip, wanted to find out, currently what is the max amount that can be withdrawn from an ATM in Lima?

Any advice on best money exchange place in town?

I've been living in Miraflores for about a year now, and honestly, not much has changed since the state of emergency started—just more Air Force guys walking around Kennedy Park. My advice? Keep it low-key. Don't wear anything that screams "tourist" — stuff like American flag shirts, college hoodies, or anything with big English writing. That kind of thing makes you a target. Same with jewelry — leave it at home. Don't be flashing your phone out on the street either. If you got to check it, step into a store or post up with your back to a wall so you're not an easy mark. And learn some basic Spanish — it makes a big difference with locals and keeps things smooth.

If you're looking to meet women, I don't really mess with spas or brothels myself, most of the women I hang out with are friends or other chicks or I just go up to chicks whenever I see them, I get rejected about 60% of the time between language barrier and them not feeling me but there are so many sexy attractive smart chicks in south America and Peru that you can get 3-4 numbers a day by just saying Hello, and chatting with them and it beats paying for just sex because sex is better when the chick is into you and they are used to gringos coming to have fun so be fun and you'll have fun haha. I know a local driver who takes foreigners to those kinds of places — brothels, discos, etc. He charges around 50–70 soles and runs that same service in Colombia and Brazil too. Hit me up privately if you want his info. Also, for GFE-type experiences, you can hit up Jockey here — he knows a few reliable spots for incall girls. They're not supermodels, but if you're coming from the USA — where let's be real, a lot of women are overweight — you'll probably be pretty happy with a cute, feminine South American chick. You just don't see as many overweight women down here, and the dating vibe is totally different.

One heads-up though: be careful with Kines sites. A lot of those girls don't work alone — they're tied to gangs or running bait-and-switch games. I've seen it firsthand, and it's not worth the risk. Bottom line: blend in, move smart, and don't stand out. South America's not the USA, and that's a good thing — but it also means you got to adjust. If you do that, you'll have a solid time out here.

Personally I wouldn't go by what 'you've heard' about any country regarding chicks, I would use this forum to search and figure out the best methods becasue all the info is on these pages.

No thief has ever said good thing he had on those clothes. I almost robbed him because I did not think he was from here. Saved by not wearing a hoodie! That does not exist. If you are not from there then you are going to stick out like a sore thumb regardless of what you wear. I get your point—tourists sometimes stand out no matter what. But avoiding certain clothes isn't about completely blending in; it's just about attracting less attention and making yourself a less obvious target. It's a small precaution, not a guarantee.
