Well, I have officially been in Bangkok for the first two days. Not much has changed since my last trip.

I'm in Bangkok, Chang Mai and maybe the islands Nov. 18 - December 8th. Going to the Yi Peng Lantern Festival and Loy Krathong on November 24–25,2026. November is the end of rainy season and the coolest temperatures. 1st timer coming, also considering relocating here in the future. Most places you must come to reception to greet your guest and give reception her ID.

But since you have associates with you, it would seem safer to go to a short time hotel, which probably costs less than 600 baht.

They are only visiting, so they don't have to check in anyway, but in most hotels the front desk will take their ID. But the JW Marriott doesn't seem to care who you invite to your room, and does not take ID's.
However, you will still have to accompany them, because the elevators require a key card.

PS: I assumed that you are talking about the JW Marriott in Sukhumvit Soi 2. Does your company and do your colleagues realize that this hotel is almost smack in the middle of the Nana entertainment area?

But it's also high season, so there are more tourists and mongers, and the prices for hotels go up and the availability of the hottest girls goes down. This hotel was based on 1) it's a JW Marriott so should be a nice hotel, and 2) it's close to our office (1 km). Of course I looked it up and realized it's close to Nana, but that's all good with me!

I read a report elsewhere about a place called X-Ray where apparently they offer uniforms and themed rooms. I've been in Jan, Feb, Jun, July, Sept., Oct and there isn't really much difference to be honest. Yes it rains more Jun. Oct and yes there are more tourists in Dec-Jan but I didn't experience anything to say that I wouldn't return at a certain time of year again.

I'd suggest if you are thinking of re-locating then try the so called "worst" months as in the most crowded or the hottest of the hot to see if you still like it and can stand it!
