Frankfurter,
If you are near Nana Soi 4, the Pharmacy right outside Nana Hotel towards Sukhumvit has it. Across the Soi on Sukhumvit near Majectic Suites is also a Pharmacy that has it. In Pattaya everywhere around Beach Rd. Second Rd. 3rd Rd, Naklua ( North Pattaya ).

Would you know what the going rate for Calias is at the Nana Soi 4 Pharmacy?
A/ She was my student, we were in a foreign country and I was responsible for her. Therefore it was neither professional or ethical for me to even consider it, as tempting as it was.
If I had "tapped her", I'd have been fired, if found out. Also, given the nature of Thai women and the fact that this girl is higher than HiSo, and comes from a very powerful family, I only saw the possibility of long-term disaster for a bit of short-term pleasure.
That sounds perfectly reasonable. Although your original comment made it sound like something else:
But, while tempting, it would come with consequences, which I'm not prepared to deal with.
If you had said it "might" cum with consequences, that would be more in harmony with your comment about possible consequences, being fired, etc. But you said it "would" cum with consequences. Furthermore, nothing about "ethics" was implied in your original quote above.
One doesn't need to tap everything in sight. I'm not 20. I actually enjoy the moments of quiet affection and the fantasy of "what if", with this girl. It's probably better than the reality of what the shag might be like
I'm not 20 either, and probably into the last third of my life, though I still want to bang any hot young lassie I see walking in the areas around Nana parking lot, MBK, or Siam Paragon. Just to fantasize about it might only leave me frustrated like Barko seemed to be after reading about her in PJ's.
Man, I would have no chance at all with the bank chicks I like if I didn't speak Thai, nor could I score with the Rama IV exec office girl I like to call out once in a while.
Well I don't speak Thai and am quite successful with the above ladies. Bank girls are really not hard to pull :D
How do you live here if you don't speak Thai?
Well I don't usually hang out or shop in the outdoor areas so everywhere I go, they either understand English or I can get by with my basic Thai (Very basic). It's not that hard to get by here without speaking the lingo.
I therefore have to say, if you live here and you don't speak Thai, you are doing yourselves and your Thai neighbors a great disservice.
Couldn't care less what my Thai neighbors think
Further, you probably aren't making as much money as you could be either.
Right, now I'm interested... how so? can you explain?
As far as I am concerned, I have a MUCH better time creating a fun sexy mood with any of my partners in Thailand simply by speaking Thai.
I don't doubt that is true. For you. But it's hard for old lazy dogs to learn new tricks or change their ways. For me it is also not worth it IMO. Not that I haven't been force fed a dozen or two Thai words by TGs that may make them happy when I feel like using them. But that is different from knowing the language and being able to speak it fluently.
Especially in the places where farangs whine about not getting good service, well I get it all the time, every time, and for the most part I think it really is because I speak Thai.
It probably can help, but it isn't necessary to having a good session with a P4P gal. A lot of other factors are involved. Attitude, looks, generosity, dress, hygene, dependability, dick size, endurance, DATY, etc. If you speak Thai and the first thing you say to her is I want to YET, that is, fuck, you, how far is your Thai speak going to get you? BTW, some of these girls hate Thai music and enjoy English tunes.
Man, I would have no chance at all with the bank chicks I like if I didn't speak Thai, nor could I score with the Rama IV exec office girl I like to call out once in a while.
I won't question that. But personally I find there are enough P4P to feed my addiction for thousands of lifetimes. So I have no need to go to all the hard work of both learning Thai and learning the Thai dating game.
I a ludicrously retarded ass clown puppet boy blurting bullshit in English for HiSo Thais to accept me and think that THEY are cool?
Say what, bro?
Now, here in Phuket, I speak Thai everywhere, of course How do you live here if you don't speak Thai?
Easy, if you can speak English. I've lived in LOS half the year for the last two. English is widely spoken in sufficient quantities, even by bar girls and street walkers. Occasionally you encounter one who can't understand what smoke and boom boom mean, but the P4P TG beside her will be more than happy to translate. Give her 50 baht for her help and your name will be JAI DEE, good heart.
Now, here in Phuket,
Ya have to luv these names, Fuckit and Bangcock. Then there's the skytrain stations Moshit, etc
Now, here in Phuket, there are lots of Germans, Norwegians, and Brits, most of them don't speak a word of Thai. The Thai people here are totally confused by this, and consider those that don't even try to speak the language to be parasitic and incompetent.
They can detest foreigners all they want to. Why would I care? Not knowing Thai I don't even know what they're saying. And that is one of the great advantages of not knowing the lingo, since my mind is free from being penetrated when I go out, unlike in the Western English speaking world. OTOH, your mind, knowing Thai, is getting publicly fucked by them every day. That is, unless you've learned to adapt by using an Ipod or MP3 player to drown out all the chit chat and other garbage. Free your mind, Neo!
Old Thai guy here: "He has rented my house for 12 years and still can't even talk about anything at all in my language. Why is that? "
Because he came there to fuck Thai pussy for a few years and die?
I therefore have to say, if you live here and you don't speak Thai, you are doing yourselves and your Thai neighbors a great disservice. Further, you probably aren't making as much money as you could be either.
Many in LOS are retired and set for life. Money making days are over. Disservice? What is the problem?
If you are living in any foreign country, and you are not actively making an attempt to speak the language, you are a making lame slacker excuses for yourself. Period. In other words, for crap's sake man, how can you possibly live anywhere if you don't speak the lingo?
Or am I missing something?
Yeah. You can speak English with many Thais and most foreigners vacationing or living in LOS. You can go to movie complexes where there are as many English speaking movies as Thai movies, and even the Thai movies have English subtitles. You can buy zillions of English speaking DVDs, music and films. There are as many English speaking TV stations available as Thai. Then there's the internet. What more can a guy need? Why go to the pains of learning another tongue?
English is the number two language in LOS and all one really needs while living there unless, perhaps, they are working, in business, living on the farm, or want to increase the chances of finding one or more non P4P TGs.
good grief, think about what you are saying and where you are saying it!
as far as i am concerned, i have a much better time creating a fun sexy mood with any of my partners in thailand simply by speaking thai. especially in the places where farangs whine about not getting good service, well i get it all the time, every time, and for the most part i think it really is because i speak thai.
man, i would have no chance at all with the bank chicks i like if i didn't speak thai, nor could i score with the rama iv exec office girl i like to call out once in a while. i could go on here but don't want to blow cover more than i already have on this board.
sure what i just said falls under that category of sleeping with the lower class, but fuck that, am i a ludicrously retarded ass clown puppet boy blurting bullshit in english for hiso thais to accept me and think that they are cool? fuck no, of course not. if those hisos are talking behind my back, they are speaking thai, natch. and, for the most part, they wish they would have gone to the schools i did in the us, but they couldn't even pass the entrance exam, even with all that canardly prep school crap they cheated through, and, it pisses them off bigtime. tough shit. and damm straight, you had better believe that i rub it in too. heh. :d
next: all of my neighbors in chiang mai, years ago, spoke thai with me, these were the monied up older thai people that most farangs never even see. in fact, speaking thai was a basic requirement, essential and mandatory. now, here in phuket, i speak thai everywhere, of course how do you live here if you don't speak thai?
thirdly, and just an aside, i go to singapore a lot. one of my closest friends and clients there is 1/2 thai and 1/2 chinese, he pulls down something on the order of $3 million a year, that's $250k a month (for those arithmetically challenged) i would consider him hiso, but he never ever puts on those fucking airs like the thais do. we speak thai with each other when we don't want the other chinese guys to understand what we are saying, invaluable for us both, and creating an air of a pair of internationalists at work, which we, in fact, are.
now, here in phuket, there are lots of germans, norwegians, and brits, most of them don't speak a word of thai. the thai people here are totally confused by this, and consider those that don't even try to speak the language to be parasitic and incompetent. old thai guy here: "he has rented my house for 12 years and still can't even talk about anything at all in my language. why is that?"
i therefore have to say, if you live here and you don't speak thai, you are doing yourselves and your thai neighbors a great disservice. further, you probably aren't making as much money as you could be either. in other words, your concept of not "going native" is robbing you of 'random reality life experiences', and most probably making damn sure that you can't possibly make any serious money here without being the underling slave of some foreign corporation. you know, those bootlicker ugly dudes with bad haircuts wearing gadawfully tailored slacks and razor pressed white shirts that you see on the bts every afternoon and soi cowboy every night? groan.

that loud buzzer you just heard over your head somewhere on the big sound stage of life means you just gave the wrong answer dude.
now, let's talk about paris, rome, shanghai and tokyo, shall we?

or am i missing something?
yes, you are missing something and, this may be the pot calling the kettle black, as gawd knows, i'm an arrogant prick, sometimes, but you do come across as a rather pompous asshole and incredibly presumptuous.
firstly, of course i speak thai, as well as a fair amount of a couple of different isaan dialects, and even a modicum of passaa nuea. i've studied and travelled extensively in my life and as a result have at various times and when circumstances demanded it spoken enough french, german, dutch, italian and greek to survive quite nicely and happily.
i dare say i probably know a least as much as you think you do about thai culture, and probably considerably more, given that i teach it and actually live within the culture (i.e. i don't live in phuket in some farang ghetto. i live in a thai neigbourhood, next to a temple, within earshot of a mosque surrounded completely by working-class thais speaking only thai). i have been intimately involved with thais from the lowest echelons to the very highest in my nearly 13 years here. my first job was with the nation, where i was a manager, and had a private thai tutor who taught me thai, the very first year i was in this country. the nation btw was wall-to-wall with hot office girls, including some philipinas. i was a boss, new meat and of great interest in a place with relatively few farang. you do the math.
i have even worked for the royal household and used to see various scions of "the family" on a regular basis. i have and still work with thais who could buy your mate in singapore with their lunch money. hell, i have students who could buy your mate with their lunch money. i've probably dated more hot thai students, bank clerks and secretaries than you've had hot dinners.
my original point, which i actually first made awhile ago in another post is that i hate farang who become more thai than thai, which btw was also old asia hand's point.
i hate farang who wai, bow and scrape to their perceived betters. i hate farang who dress like upcountry hicks when they live in some bumfuck village in isaan, thinking they're trying to fit in. isaan people just scratch their heads and wonder why the "bugsida" (that's isaan for "farang", just in case you don't know) with all that money would voluntarily dress like some f-ing rice farmer. i hate farang who think they're "geng" because they can eat phra-ra, a ton of chillis, and slurp noodles with the locals on the street. i hate farang who have the bad taste to drink johnny walker black because their hiso thai mates think this is the height of sophistication. most of all, i hate farang assholes like you who think that because they can "speak the lingo", and hit on bank clerks that they're in with the natives, and just too cool for school.
trust me, dude. thais being thais (and ultimately two-faced and xenophobic regardless of how fluent you are or think you are) probably still think you're as big a wanker as those swedes walking around patong with their suntanned, leathery skin, red bull t-shirts and shiny shorts.

There's a on going discussion about what the Thai think of farangs going native, so I wanted to add my 2 cents.
Thais judge people of all race by their actions. What I mean is if you're a farang that have decided to learn Thai and speak it at very occasion, this would be a good thing. But if your neighbor see you bringing new bar girl looking Thai girls home, then they will sure talk shit about you. Even if you have a few Thai friends that you hang out with and you carry yourself as a low life foreigner whose only purpose for learn Thai is to score with Thai girls, then they will think lowly of you.
On the other hand, if you are a nice guy with a good heart, a good job, maybe a car, a steady Thai girl friend (who does not look and talk like a bar girl). You give your loose change to the poor old people. You buy flowers for the Buddha shrines. You exercise regular at the gym. If you lead an overall "HiSo" life ( even if you go whoring at night), the Thai will respect you. This not only applies to Thailand but applies to all SE Asian countries.
My advices are
-Learn to speak Thai.
-Never take a bar girl home, instead use a cheap hotel room near by.
-if you're dating a Thai girl make sure she speaks educated Thai. I dated a very hot girl that I met at a disco for a few months. Soon my Thai friends stop hang out with me and I later found out that my ex-GF had a gutter mouth. Yes, Thailand has its version of the ghetto.
-if your girl has tattoos don't show them in public. Very few regular Thai girls have them.

-refraining from sharing all of your sexual exploits with the Thai guys. They might laugh and talk you up when you're around, but will think lowly of you and talk shit about behind your back. Leave your stories here instead.
-don't talk about how much money you have or what fancy things you brought.

lol, great rant. i would like to add guys who insist on getting in long, pointless, repetitive conversations with taxi drivers, and who are rude to the point of abusive with thai staff in farang-oriented joints who dare to presume to address them in english. i don't hate them so much as they bore me to tears- how much more impressive they would be were they to show a bit of modesty!- but then i realize that for a lot of long-timers, it's all they have. i mean, having taken the trouble and time to learn a difficult, "exotic" language like thai, in end what do you get to show for it? the ability to branch off into other languages in the group, like a non-native speaker of russian might do? (yes, knowing thai makes learning lao easier, i'm sure.) the possibility of finding good work in europe or north america that learning chinese, korean, or japanese might afford? not really. . .
it obviously makes sense to gain some proficiency in thai if one is going to live or spend extended periods of time here, but it seems to me the law of diminishing returns kicks in pretty quickly unless there is a strong need to use the language professionally (and it had better be a really strong need, because aspiring to that level requires serious dedication). insofar as speaking thai with the "educated" class here, they might praise you for the effort, but they will not like it one bit if you insist on speaking thai with them- and they will really hate you if they find out your thai is better than their english. english ability is pretty strongly tied in with class identity here, and being forced to speak thai with a farang could cause a loss of face, especially among the chinese colonist class. thai is the language of the lower classes, and the chinese learn it because they have to; whereas, if you speak teochew or hakka they might be impressed. . .

I gotta say, I do like the denim farmer shirts (with real buttons)- they are comfy and the pockets are really handy, plus you can wear the shirt open during the day with a t-shirt underneath, and button up at night if it is cool. I hope we can still be friends one day.
I hate Farang who think they're "Geng" because they can eat Phra-ra
Pity the phra-ra eating farang; they are deranged. Said vile substance is not allowed in our home, which is OK because my wife HATES being suspected of being Isaan (her mom eats it, though. . .hmmm).

I do like some kee noo in my khao ka moo; henceforth, if while eating little hot chilis in my pork rice I notice an expression of scorn on a Canadian-looking chap, I'll introduce myself. No worry about the noodles, which are fit only for girls and Japanese males.

Unforgivable. The pan-Asian devotion to the stuff is bizarre. Then again, I don't get blended Scotch anyway.

Barko's post didn't in the slightest come off as attacking you, rather people IN GENERAL who live here for years and don't bother to learn Thai. A completely fair target, for obvious reasons. Your original post however. "I hate Farang, who go native". Does imply an attack on anyone who tries.
You are self absorbed and self obsessed beyond belief. Sure you have some fascinating things to say, but you nearly always end up barking out some unnecessarily wounded knee-jerk reaction, and then shoehorning in yet another obscenely long litany of achievements and Thai credentials, which imply your total superiority and unassailable wonderfulness. Enough already, we all know that part.
Get some therapy man and lighten up.
Yes, you are missing something and, this may be the pot calling the kettle black, as Gawd knows, I'm an arrogant prick, sometimes, but you do come across as a rather pompous asshole and incredibly presumptuous.
Yep. No excuses, none at all, guilty as charged. And, I have a house surrounded with palm trees, hibiscus, jasmine, lemon grass, orchids (& some extraneous weird purple flowery shit I pulled out of the jungle behind my house,) a vegetable garden, fruit trees, a 180 degree white water view of the ocean, a 41' sailboat, two condos in major Asian cities, and fly to work every week. You?
Jeez, you think I am pompous, you should see the Japs I have to deal with. Watching them watch the Sumo championships on TV last weekend at the Amari Watergate was overwhelming. (They both had ticket packages for all events, but in the true Japanese manner, they gave them to employees and came here for holiday instead.) One guy owns a trucking company in Kanazawa (for crap's sake,) and I want to bang his insanely hot 23 yr old daughter so bad I have wet dreams about it every night, and the other is a board member and part owner of a major brand computer wholesale outlet in Yokohama. They have been friends with each other since elementary school, and they both sincerely think that they are god, alpha males gone seriously seriously wrong.
To operate in this real world of E Asia, to be able to actually own something on your own, and make something of yourself, you have to have some pretty bigass brass balls and a monstrous sense of humor, right OTH? I know you got them both. And, no I won't start with the farang Thai teacher jokes, I promise. ;)
From 1983 when I first bought into Thailand, I have never taken much of a liking to Isaan or it's culture, it's way too backasswards, more than a little confused, and the girls are butt ugly too. You can have both it, and them. The farangs that live there and try to emulate the Isaan people are usually lowlife ex-barcrawler burnouts. Don't need any of that either.
Strange too, because Isaan actually used to be the commercial center of Siam, the true money generation area for all of Thailand. The extended families were rich, powerful, and narcissistic. Then along came WW2 and later, Hom Mali (wet rice hybrid, USA 1956,) and everything changed. Rice went south, and Isaan money went with it. Now they have to pop out female bay-bees as fast as they can just to make sure that Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket all have enough bar-bees to go around.
If in saying that, it makes me even more of a pompous asshole, that's just the way I am hardwired. Reading lots of your posts I think you have some of that in you too OTH. It's what happens when you live here for a long time and have to deal with the shit daily. Both sides pulling against the middle.
So, don't get me wrong, I love it here. I can't think of actually living anywhere else right now, it just drives my old sorry ass off the deep end sometimes. Then, I have to go deal with the bigshots in Singapore and Xiamen (etc) again, and I am reminded (again) why I live here and NOT there, (nor anywhere else in the world for that matter.)
Sorry this got so stretched out, talk about all over the map! Heh.
I'm just glad I learned how to speak Thai 25 years ago, and learned (burned) early regarding Thai chicks, it really has made all the difference (in my own convoluted version of the universe here in LaLa land.) Pompous prick or not.

As usual Sanook, you're spot on. More often than not, I speak "Taxi Thai" and don't let on that I can speak better or understand because actually Thais in general don't like a Farang to be too proficient. To them, a little bit of Thai is 'na rak'. Too much, and you're a threat.
You're also right about the HiSo crowd, especially the Thai-Chinese. English is the Lingua Franka and a status symbol. For example, a lot of my students have spent their whole lives at international schools, learning in English and have difficulty speaking Thai (at least properly) and more often than not speak a teenage slang version, heavily peppered with English/Tinglish. A lot of them can't read or write Thai, at all.
If you want to hear crappy Thai, just listen to Taksin. It's almost as bad as his English.
