RE: Mandarin is not for rookies to the scene
After being away for more than a few years and salacious lurking here, I finally have the opportunity to go back. Questions first, and I'll add some details later that folks can skip or read at their choosing.
I am curious about Nyezhov's comment about Mandarin not being for rookies. I mean, at some level of experience, all of these girls are now experts at reading people and separating an unsuspecting customer from his cash with the least amount of effort. What is it about Mandarin specifically that makes it not for rookies?
Less a question and more of a "WTF, I coulda had a V8" moment. For my previous gogobar takeouts, I paid the BF and the ST fee (and always had good experiences, which was not guaranteed) at the bar. Someone commented about pushing back to not pay the ST / LT fee to the bar / mama, and I was like, "Well, fuck yeah, why didn't I ever think of that before? Point being that no matter how much many years I have been doing this, and numerous trips to BKK, Khon Kaen, etc. There are still things to learn here if we just pay attention.
Onto the narrative and upcoming plans:
I've been to BKK and elsewhere in Thailand a number of times and have done oilies, soapies, shows, FLs, and takeout at bars like Hillary's and gogos at Soi Cowboy and Nana. The one that got away was this crazy little thing in Khan Kaen. There was a kind of dance club in the basement of the (I think) Pullman, which was nextdoor to a decent fishbowl. I was just having a drink and wound up in a private room with some gal that wasn't working and she was a wild thing and she was literally dripping wet.
Anyway, I am looking to find a young-ish lady (for me, so late 20's early 30's) to be my after-dinner companion for the duration of my stay. Assuming I can find someone that has the right personality, enthusiasm (for an hour or two), BBFSCIP / BBBJCIM, etc. I will likely stay at the JW Marriott near Nana. I love Crazy House and will probably have to check it out, if for no other reason than fond memories. I'll pay for a TF membership and check that out, but I like to meet and evaluate in person, and I don't have to time to do "interviews". I will likely focus on Mandarin if it looks good as it will allow me to save time, being near the JW. That way I can get food, workouts, AND playtime all in with the rest of my schedule. I am a fan of keeping the mamasan happy and using her to help refine the search process.
Most of this is to lead me to say I greatly appreciate the regulars here keeping it real and continually offering tips, such as EverythingThai's Overview of Bangkok Options (http://www.internationalsexguide.nl/forum/showthread.php?4402-Overview-of-Bangkok-options&p=2963188&viewfull=1#post2963188), EihTooms, SubCmdr, etc. I lurk here often to keep up, and haven't had much to contribute, but I will do so after my adventure.

Mandarin and the drink hustle
Thanks for the heads up, and the reminder. It's a good reminder that one must keep theirs wits about them when you're at a club. We are walking ATMs with poor blood flow to the larger head.
Fortunately I gave up drinking a while back, which makes part of that process easier. I never had issues at Crazy House (years ago), but I watch the tab, or just pay as I go.
Mandarin has reputation for drink hustling rookies. They pull the double lady drink and I've been told that they're into short changing. They mostly take advantage of Asians. This is based on my random conversations with various people, as I haven't climbed those stairs probably since 2018.
The Cmdr adds a few thoughts about Crazy House
Crazy House
Never had a problem with drink hustling there. Yes, they want their lady drinks to hang out with you, but that is the price of admission. Those with Alligator arms need not apply. I've never pulled the trigger. Simply too expensive compared to where I am normally posted up. But great atmosphere and eye candy
RE: The drink (and other) hustle
Just curious as I have not been since pre-COVID, has this just gotten worse in general, or is this related to a reduction in tourism, so fewer guys coughing up cash? I have always believed the ladies & clubs were pretty mercenary about these things, but my historical experiences were not so bad that I felt like I was watching my wallet 24/7. Of course, I do segregate my cash that I use for drinks, from my cash for taking the lady out, just to reduce the amount of cash visible at any given time.
That has become an issue everywhere, certainly not unique to Mandarin. When I agree to a lady drink, I hold up 1 finger and say 1 drink. She often asks for a double drink and I hold up 1 finger. It's noisy and we don't all speak same language. This works.
To avoid short change, I look carefully at the bill and the waitress knows that I'm expecting certain change. I seldom get involved with many rounds, so confusion has never been an issue.
RE: The drink (and other) hustle
I was in Billboard in Nana Plaza, pulled a hot girl from the stage and bought her a $7 drink.
She was late 20's, pretty face, beautiful body with smooth, light skin, sat on my lap next to the stage, smiling sweetly, trying to communicate, sipping her drink slowly. I tasted it; real whiskey, not Saigon tea hehe. We were staring at each other, smiling. I kissed her mouth with my hands roaming her natural boobs and hot srotch.
She sat with me about 20 minutes. No one hustled me for more drinks or tips. She was smiling graciously when I had to go. Overall her company was fun, sweet and sexy; her drink was worth far more than in pussies bars in other countries, except Classic T2 in Jakarta, where girls' drinks are the same prices as guys, and beautiful girls would sit with you for hours.
I would buy them drinks again.
