Walking on Copacabana beach at noon today I was amazed at how few people were out and how the beach was so vacant. Maybe the favela wars had some impact.

SÃO PAULO - O policiamento na região da Ladeira dos Tabajaras, em Copacabana, na zona sul do Rio, foi reforçado nesta ***ça-feira, 24. O reforço chega após os tiroteios que aconteceram durante todo o dia e noite de segunda-feira. Nesta manhã, 120 homens da Polícia Militar realizam mais uma operação na Ladeira dos Tabajaras. Antes da ação policial, comércio, escolas e creches funcionavam normalmente.
Desde sábado, quando uma quadrilha de traficantes da Rocinha tentou tomar os pontos de droga na Ladeira dos Tabajaras, cinco supostos traficantes morreram, 18 criminosos foram presos e 21 armas apreendidas. Até o meio da manhã não houve troca de tiros, mas a polícia estima que dez traficantes da Rocinha ainda estariam nas matas no entorno da Ladeira dos Tabajaras.
Para ajudar no reforço, agentes do Batalhão Florestal da Polícia Militar também vão se juntar aos demais policiais no patrulhamento e para uma operação na mata da região em busca de criminosos.
No fim da tarde da segunda, quatro acusados de tráfico morreram em uma das ruas mais movimentadas do turístico bairro carioca. Eles seriam criminosos da Favela da Rocinha, em São Conrado, que desde a noite de sábado tentam invadir a Ladeira dos Tabajaras. O quinto homem morreu pouco depois de dar entrada no Hospital Miguel Couto, no início da tarde. Outros cinco baleados permaneciam internados.
Guerra entre traficantes
A guerra entre traficantes rivais trouxe pânico a moradores de três bairros da zona sul carioca. Humaitá, Copacabana e Botafogo convivem desde domingo com tiroteios intensos na Ladeira dos Tabajaras. Segundo a Assessoria de Imprensa da Polícia Militar, no fim da tarde de segunda, PMs suspeitaram dos homens que estavam em uma van na esquina das ruas Santa Clara e Toneleiros.
Os policiais se aproximaram do carro, mas teriam sido recebidos a tiros. Os quatro homens fugiram a pé, mas foram atingidos pelos policiais e morreram. Outros dois homens que estavam na van foram presos. Por causa do embate, o Túnel Velho, que liga Copacabana a Botafogo, foi fechado.
Até o início da noite de segunda, outros 13 homens haviam sido presos. Parte deles, quando tentava fugir, fez operários reféns em uma obra no Humaitá. Os suspeitos queriam roubar uniformes dos operários para escapar do cerco policial. A PM viu a abordagem, negociou a libertação dos operários e prendeu os criminosos.
Os policiais permaneceram pelas ruas do bairro e pela mata que dá acesso à Ladeira dos Tabajaras durante todo o dia à procura dos invasores. Dois helicópteros foram usados para tentar localizá-los de cima. Cerca de 124 crianças ficaram sem aulas ontem na Creche Tia Sonia Crispiniano, na Ladeira dos Tabajaras, que foi fechada. Escolas de bairros como Botafogo também liberaram alunos.
Parte do comércio em Copacabana fechou por causa dos tiros. Segundo a PM, pelo menos 30 homens da Rocinha, comandada pela facção criminosa Amigos dos Amigos, teria participado da invasão ao Tabajaras, que é liderado por traficantes do Comando Vermelho. A operação da PM contou com 120 homens de 11 batalhões. Foram apreendidas sete pistolas, três espingardas, uma carabina, um fuzil e nove granadas."

I just got back from a week in Rio and these are my observations.
To give some background, this is my 4th time to Rio over the course of 5 years and I have always had a great time on all of my trips but this one wasn’t worth the 23 hour roundtrip plane ride.
I’m not sure if it was the friends I brought down or just a couple of bad coincidences.
I traveled with 2 of my buddies this time, one who is an experienced monger and the other who was just going down for the "experience". I knew this was going to be bad Karma when the first words out of his mouth once we landed in Rio was "I changed my mind, I just can’t pay for it. " I’m thinking to myself great than what the fuck did you come for. But I held my tongue and just said cool, do what ever you feel comfortable with.
So the first place we go is Luomo. We are somewhat early we get there at 5pm, take showers and go relax at the bar. We order a couple of drinks and I notice that the girls are just talking to each other and the hottest girls are only interested in talking to this American guy who is sitting in a corner by himself. After an hour I pull over to the bar a smoking hot, tall, somewhat skinny, really cute girl and I tell her to grab her 2 friends she was talking with to talk with my buddies. So my buddy who said he will not pay for it ask his girl for a massage! What an idiot. , I just look at him and laugh! My other buddy is talking to I think the hottest girl in Luomo and decided to take her for a session. I wasn’t going to be left talking with my lame buddy at the bar so I told the sexy, skinny chick that it was time for us to do a session! It was fantastic. She was so cute. BBBJ, couple positions later and done! She was so cute I actually was UP again in about 5 minutes (this never happens) so we tried again, she was trying really hard to get me to go again but I couldn’t so we stopped and just cuddled. Great girl and excellent experience. A bit on the expensive side, I’m not sure what it cost in Reals but my credit card was charged $135US for a 40 minute session and 3 beers.

We then went to Lapa and had a really good time at some of the bars there! Really fun everyone in the streets having a good time. About a 20 minute cab ride from Copa.
Ok, next day we go to 4x4, this has always been my favorite place. Well this time around would be different. Now my other friend who is an experienced monger starts to get a conscious saying "this is bad all of these guys with wives at home" I’m like dude are you kiddin me right now you are in a room with 75 of the hottest girls you’ve ever seen and all you can think about are dudes? ! What is this world coming too. ?
Now here is the crazy part. After scoping out the place for 30-40 minutes I finally found "the one" she has long straight blond hair, ass to die for and nice tits. I gently grab her waist and say "Hi, please come here, lets have a chat" she ignores me. I’m thinking huh, maybe she didn’t hear me. So I say it again and she ignores me. My buddy is like are you getting rejected by a GDP? I said well, I didn’t think that was possible. Never happened before. So I try one more time and then she turns around looks me dead in the eye and said "what do you want? I don’t speak English! " then she walks off. I couldn’t believe this kind of attitude in what is suppose to be the happiest place! Needless to say this got me pissed off. Has anyone ever experienced this before with a Terma girl? I’m in excellent shape by most standards and considered good looking. I just couldn’t understand this attitude for no reason! Since my spirits were low, I mean getting rejected by a hooker is about as low as it can get. I took the next hottie walking by without any screening (biggest mistake)! We make it upstairs, I actually got a shower in my 40 minute room which was a bonus. She hands me a towel and asked me if I was going to shower.

I went to BA 85 today. The first floor has some new girls. A few are hot. The second floor has been revamped. I guess they got word of Christophed's description (accurate) of the place. I did not go into the back rooms but will before I leave. Renata was on the 2nd floor. SHe remembers me and wants me to do her. I will on saturday. She is usually one of my last girls when in Rio.
I did a skinny black girl on the 3rd floor today. She was parading around with no drawers on, so you know I had to do it! BBBJ was nice.

that's a pretty good article. i'm gonna use it as bait to lure some of my friends to rio. the end part about not wanting to look at american girls when you get home is so true. i was at a club in nyc last night and all i could think about is bunda. does this make me a bad person???
