The unknown is scary, anyone could be packing any type of firearm and gun anyone else down on the street and the risk of getting caught is a tiny fraction of what it is in the US, Europe etc. People get wasted all the time 3-4 a night sometimes in neighborhoods I don't wish to name.

But

The guys or sicarios that could and will snuff you in a matter of seconds will be unknown by you. You will never see him or them coming. There is not going to be 3 hour abduction where you are transported to a secluded warehouse and get tied up and talked to for hours about how you did some girl wrong and the father will be stopping by to have a talk with you or whatever revenge the dad has in mind, giving you every opportunity to be James Bond and escape. These people are busy and taking someone out is not a game in Colombia like it is in the movies. It happens in seconds and the body is left in the street.

The dirty gamines in the streets flailing their sticks or knives are no big threat if you spot them first and avoid them. They can't move all that fast, are weak and worn down (even the 20 year olds) and are too glued up to see more than 10 feet in front of them. It's the little 12 year old gamine boys that run in packs whose bodies are not totally shot yet, thems is who you got to watchout for.

Too funny. The guy was as white and gringo as they come.

The result was great though, as she knew I knew and vice versa, so the game playing stopped, and the sex got better and more frequent. I ended up being the guy she would call after a dinner date with some poor guy who hadn't figured her out yet. (The guy I used to be, but now I had magically worked my way up the pyramid jajaja).

More than once I'd be in bed with her, right in the middle of it when her phone would ring, as it did non stop. She'd answer and be saying to the guy; 'oh I miss you too, I can't wait to see you', while she was giving me the sneakiest smile and putting her finger to her lip to tell me to be quiet.

This seemed to really turn her on, and so sometimes she would make a call to a guy while we were at it, just for fun. She was a bad girl, and I sure wish she was still around.

She married some guy from Calgary and apparently settled down, which I find so hard to believe. But hey, you never know.

Every time you fly out she KNOWS it could be the last time she ever sees you and even though she is only 24 she thinks she is old and does not want to waste time. I got a girl who has a Caleño boyfriend and he is currently living in Cali, she says he is great and that she doesn't like paisa men and that they see each other about once a month. Her Facebook is loaded with pictures of her and this guy. I don't have to tell you what we do twice a week when he is not around.

How are you buddy? Yes that was a great super bowl party. Was taking part in the pre-game sex show in Boyd's room when my girl showed up! Well she knew what kinda guy I am.

Pittsburg won over the Cardinals that game. I'm hoping they beat Green bay as well. Still breaks my heart that the Bears were THIS close to going to the big show. Oh well. So now I am all in for the Steelers. It's good that I was a Steelers fan years ago as a kid when I first got into football.

Since I took up some space here asking about flights to Cartagena, I thought I would post the results in case anyone else is thinking of making the trip.

The busses are cheap, but takes a full day (12-13 hours) each way.

Airlines:

ADA.

Aires.

Avianca.

Easy Fly.

Satena.

ADA is the only one that listed direct flights from Herrera (EOH) to Cartagena (CTG). However, the fare was more than double than flying from Jose Maria Cordoba (MDE).

Fares ranged from (USD) $161 to $475. I booked with Aires, flying out of MDE via Bogota to Cartagena, about 5 hours each way, for $176.

Hope this is helpful to someone.

Hope this is helpful to someone. [/QUOTE]I did the trip from MDE to CTG last Mar. For around $80 one way nonstop on Avianca. This was with about two weeks notice. Of course if you paid $176 for a RT then it is not bad at all. I am not sure if the price you quoted was one way or not.
