So, we're hitting Cartagena July 11-16 and just wondered how we're going to manage with girls with only English speaking?
I can't see where the main action is either as there doesn't seem to be any ROD on Cartagena.
Appreciate any help fellas, and if you're around, beers will be put your way.

If you hit the beach around El Laguito there should be some English speaking hustler types that can help you out with freelancers. Dolce Vita is also over that way and you can hit that spot at night. I'm sure others have much more information, as I have only been to CTG once, but you may have to go through this section carefully and take notes, which is what I did before I went.

Something about not having the right documentation or permits to be open. A girl from Pereira, who was hustling me at Cafe Havana, told me this last night. I walked by the street later in evening and nothing was going on.
Upon my arrival at the HOTEL Santa Clara / Sofitel, I was handed a piece of paper by the front desk informing me of their strict policy regarding guests. They are not even allowed in the pool area, much less your room. Though when I came to my room around 2 am, I wondered how the security person could discern if a girl accompanying me was a guest or visitor. As long as they are not dressed inappropriately, I think one could sneak someone in.
The usual action can be found at the clock tower at El Centro. Quite a few ladies trolling the area with some young and attractive girls in the mix along with the usual fuglies. The girl I met at Cafe Havana quoted me 300 k pesos for an hour at a love motel. She also was with a friend who offered a trio for an additional $300 k. Since I was not interested in the second girl (gordita), and only marginally interested in the first chica, I let it pass but wanted to gather some info on current pricing. But if I was interested, I could see negotiating later in week to $200 k for an 1 1/2 hour. This is about $106 USD; not including the hotel price.
Any thoughts from CTG experts one might expect to pay in the above scenario?
How would you experienced Cartagena mongers compare CTG to a place like DR (Sosua)? I have always been tempted by Cartagena, I speak basic spanish and can understand a conversation. I like Sosua because it's closer, cheap accommodations, and GFE has been good. For the value, I think it's great. But I am looking to travel to a new destination this year and have never been to Colombia. I've read a bit on the forums, and from what I can gather Colombia overall might be a little more expensive than DR, but quality of women may be higher (depends on what you're into obviously). I've seen people who visit DR say they love it, and would prefer it over Colombia for various reasons. And then others swear that Colombia cannot be beat. I am curious though if GFE exists or if it's more rare in CTG.

I took a recent trip to CTG and to MDE. Had a great time. Although not the safest of places. Every gringo we ran into (very few), had been robbed. One of them was shot when he refused to part with his watch. LDV is an easy place to hookup with mostly pro and a few semi pro. The beach isn't very nice. No swimming because the hotels dump the sewage right into the water. We met some nice girls on the beach, with the help of the beach hustlers. We went to a few strip clubs, and casas in very questionable neighborhoods, but had great experiences there. Let me know if you guys have any questions.

I guess one could pay for a GFE, but the cost would probably be much higher than the other place you mentioned. In CTG did you try any bars other than LDV? I will be there in a few months and was looking for bar options.

Thanks Tomas be! For the update in intel there in CTG. A few things caught my attention from your post. So for this hobby an apt is always best. Especially if in El Laguito. Close to LDV close to the beach not far from San Martin ave. Close to groceries, late night food and ATM. I'm thinking you went to Pleyclub. The area there is really shady and you go through a bunch of neighborhoods and for tourists. Just doesn't feel right. Hotels are good for the novias. Apts are always best to bring back the girls at all hours of the night and sometimes more than 1 girl. Thats just my own personal experience. If you could tell us what places were not safe in CTG? Clocktower girls are usually my absolute last resort. I like Paprika but that seems to be closed now so not sure what will turn up next. The pricing you were quotes is very high. I never did TLN but for a few hours 200 k is more than enough. In some cases 80-100 for 1 hour is very doable. Ldv girls are hot! Most of the time 200 k for LDV girls is fine. Just have to be firm with them and take the lead. If she refuses another girl will take the $$. Maybe it will be more packed with Paprika closed. I will be there in Sept. I never felt in danger in either city, but I never get extremely intoxicated. I was in CTG for two weeks, and only met one other gringo the whole time I was there. There are tons of bars and clubs mainly in the old city. LDV is the only P4 P club aside from the the casas and strip clubs. LDV is small, expensive, and same girls every night. Although I received GFE if I wanted it.

He invited me to join him and since it was no cost, I accepted. I thought there might be problems with bringing guests due to the nature of this hotel and was not surprised to discover their policies. That being said, I do have two extra nights next weekend and I am looking for a place that is GF. Someone on this site mentioned an apartment in El Centro near Bolivar Plaza, which I plan to visit today. Any other suggestions gladly noted.

I noticed how unaggressive they are with only minimum eye contact. Very mellow scene later in evening though around sunset, most of the people in this area were tourists, children, etc. The girls in the game come much later in evening. I read RTFF on their pricing and around $100 k pesos might be the going rate though that info might be dated. I am looking to take a girl for a few hours to a love hotel (perhaps Las Dunas in Crespo). Does that price seem reasonable or should I expect to pay more for two hours? I suppose, in the end, much of it depends on our negotiating skills and whether the chica needs some cash.

You need to make the first move.

Thanks for the help![/QUOTE]If you have never been, you should definitely go. In terms of girls, CTG blows Sosua out of the water (however, I prefer Puerta Plata, Santiago, Santa Domingo over Sosua! Things will definitely cost more (from girls to accommodations). If you like what you see, you should consider going inland to Medellin and Bogota where the girls are much much cheaper, however they don't have the same beach atmosphere of CTG.
