Planning my first trip to Moscow in October and have been reading from page 15 onwards. Loads of info and very useful chaps on there, the likes of Jake etc. I read that many clubs have face control at the entrance. What do they look for? Dress code, drunk or not. Will it matter if I am Indian looking?

1. Drunk guys. They won't let you in of you look like you have had too much to drink and might cause trouble.

2. Skin Color. I apologize if this offends anyone but most of the "gopniks" they have running FC (face control) are racist as hell. And they seem to have a dislike of people whom they think are "black". So what exactly does that mean? To a Russian, being "black" does not necessarily mean you are African. It just means that you are not white. And in Russian terms, that means that you might be from parts of the "empire" that some Russians do not consider desirable. These places might be, but are not limited to, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Chechnya, Georgia, Azerbaijan, etc. Guys from these places trying to get into some Moscow clubs are going to have a hard time. And by way of extension, if one is "Indian Looking" as you put it, you might well be lumped into that same category and be considered undesirable.

Having said all of that, in Russia "Money Talks". I'm not saying that you need to bribe your way in, but if you look like you "belong" in that club then FC will let you in. At the risk of being patronizing, I would say that means paying attention to grooming and dress. What FC is looking for from a dark skinned man is drab, nondescript clothing and a two day old growth of scruffy beard. Add a pair of trainers and you will most certainly be denied entrance. This does not mean that you need to cover yourself in "bling", but dressing up a bit will most certainly improve your chances of entrance and certainly improve your chances with the ladies.

Anyone has already tried Nejno massage parlour (nejno. Ru) ? They have 2 venues in Moscow. Would consider to try one during my first stay in Moscow next month but any advise would be appreciated. Of course, I read the forum but couldn't find anything so far. Thank you in advance.

Totally correct, one thing, go early before there are lines to get into the Clubs, 10:30-11:30. I would tip the guys a $5-10, can not hurt, once you are in no issues. I personally like the Face Control, because it keeps the places nice. Unlike Kiev, were there are no rules, no Face Control and Sex Tourist everywhere, that do not behave, this has ruined the City. Bad behavior is not tolerated in Moscow, no problem getting a little crazy, but respect and good behavior is important.

They are racists and cold and first, but once you get to know them they are great people. Can not say enough positives things about Moscow.

Thank you. Agree with you, heard great things about Moscow and Muscovites. Bouncers are horrible all across the world, in Berlin, London etc. I guess that their job.

But they do a good job at keeping the place respectable as you said. Good tip about going early and tipping, will do that.

Hey! I have been reading this sections and I am now starting to becoming interested in a 2-3 day trip mainly focusing on touristing during days and stripclubs during nights. How would you describe the style of Girls in the most popular clubs: Penthouse, Night Flight, Aurora, Angels, etc? On Instagram many of the sexy Russian Girls seems to have filled lips, long sexy Nails and often silicone boobs: exactly my style. Can you find this type of Girls in the clubs? Night Flight is a horse of a different color. The format is not strip club but rather (p4 p) pickup bar (and does not have on-site rooms either). The girls at Night flight also tend towards 30+ age group. Nonetheless found a nice girl there. But probably not the type you are after.

You may think the FC guys ATTITUDE is similar, but гопник is a low social status person among with other qualities and with different dress code, so they do not pass the FC to work as FC, not to mention to enter to those clubs. Most Beautiful Girls in the Word by far. So much fun, they are crazy and wild. I was very successful using SA and Night Clubs. Went the Strip Clubs, but the club I went to girls were not able to give out there number, so I gave up.

There are lot of links and videos explaining in Russian available in the web but I have seen gopniks enough in Russia. But I never saw gopniks as FC in the entrance of below written clubs and other clubs in Moscow and St. Petersburg nor had refused entrance to all those where I went. Always got a polite welcome.

Of course, one can always ask from FC guys that are they gopniks when it seems so. LOL.
