I read this year Ramadan will begin at 20 JUL.
After that days, the bars in blok M will be open as they are now?
And the places like Malioboro, Alexis and so?
Thanks!

Thanks!
It's always a bit hard to tell what's going to happen until it does. On past record, most pubs and clubs will shut, except (in some cases) those based in star-rated hotels and / or those with extra special protection. When they are open, they often have to or choose to compromise a bit, often a bit farcically. For example, one resto I went to refused to serve me a LARGE beer in Ramadhan ("But I can have a small one?" "Certainly, Sir." "And the small one costs half as much as the large one? And I can order two?" "Of course, Sir". I'm not joking! Which chapter of al-Quran did THAT come from?). Most bordellos shut, although sometimes they operate under reduced circumstances. The Fifth Floor is famous, for another example, for closing but offering girls from hotel rooms instead.
Alexis would be interesting. I bet you that has some major backing. I don't usually go there, I'm too much of a tight-wad.
Last year, the Blok M bars still opened most of the time, but closed earlier. Otherwise, it was business as usual. I preferred it, the girls all wanted to get out of the bar well before one, although on the flip side, they also wanted to leave earlier to go home for saur.
A lot of gf type girls will be fasting. They don't usually have sex while doing so, that counts as breaking the fast. Very few girls feel strongly about not having sex after buka, though. In some cases, they go home to their kampungs. The girls who are going home want more money, so they will either be greedy or eager to please and or both. Some girls who operate in bordellos will be enthusiastic about giving you their number so you can visit them somewhere, so they don't lose an income for the whole month.
Food is slightly more difficult to get in the day time, but doesn't affect most travelers who eat in western or upmarket places.
Taxis and useful members of the working classes are difficult to find and employ.
People are generally a bit lazy and sleepy, it's not a good time for business.
If you live here, it's kind of a pain in the arse, but not a total waste of time or a bad time necessarily.
Hope this post covers all the details, and hope no-one else needs to come out with the string of Jakarta / Ramadhan questions that we always get. Cheers.

As an addition: bars in e.g. Bandung and Surabaya are completely closed, so avoid being outside Jakarta during this time. Also, be aware that many girls consider during Ramadan a Long Time as until 4 o'clock in the morning, because than they have to go home to cook breakfast.
Bali is generally OK, except for the week before and after Idul Fitri, because then all Java girls have gone home!
Have fun.
NO

Thanks!
With regards to the high end hotels:
BATS in the Shang-ri-la is open thru out, but has no live music and all the lights are on for the first couple of days of Ramadan. There's also a day two weeks in which is off significance and the same regime applies. No live music and all lights on. There is no covercharge for those days and you'll find a few girls down there, but not too many. The rest of the time, it's business as usual.
CJ's in the Hotel Mulia is closed the three days mentioned above. Business as usual the rest of the time.
I also thinks the first day of Eid is treated as above, but have never been there for that as the whole country just about shuts down and not worthwhile being there for business.
They're not all from Indramayu. I've seen Ayam from the likes of Bogor, Bandung and Surabaya at Pangeran Jayakarta and some of the Kota places. Oh, and the girl can still refuse a customer. I've seen it happen many times.
You?
For sure, I was refused service by girl in travel
The one and only time I'll go there.
Ftr I'm not unattractive or unclean, getting way more free action these days.
She just wasn't keen, saying too big.
185cm is All
I won't comment on KK, because I am local. But from what I read, looks like more difficult to bang girls in their home country (I. E. In Usbek) , because selling sex's discreet. .
True. It's damn near impossible to get Japanese in Japan, but in Australia it's easy.
Besides if you live here sometimes it's worth spicing it up.
As much as I do love our divine brown beauties
So tipping.
Certainly not customary where I'm from
And while I see it's value.
It's what? 10% if bill in a resto.
But I see guys throwing around 100's like it's monopoly money.
Even for shit service!
Even for private hire!
May well be for you? But not for bule who live here outside oil and gas.
I know what life costs here, I live like a decent paid local.
I know exactly how valuable 50rb is.
And that's the biggest tip I'll give,
It's enough really.
If she gives bad service, or pads the charges, she gets none.
I know how hard a masseur works in their hour for far less money.
So I'm not giving out candy for aspic.
I also don't buy girls drinks.
What's your policy?
So
=Koperen Karel; 1290826]Was in Jakarta again and decided to visit Blok M' s bars.
Slightly, with an extra 'private' corner.
The girl (forgot her name, but she has her hair cut in a bob) quickly stripped and started to open my pants. To my surprise she immediately asked if I wanted 'pompom'. This was still a no-no last year. I was tempted by her very attractive bum, but politely declined and chose the BBBJ, which she performed very good after some DFK and me fingering her pussy. After I came in her mouth she cleaned my parts and I closed up and paid her 400, 000.
Hmmm.
Plenty of good lookers there.
BBBJ in the's is 200. Don't negotiate.
FS is 300-400 covered optional BTW.
In the corner go for it

Sorry about the last post.
I'm posting from an iPhone and it's pretty limiting for being able to edit and post.
What's your policy?
If I am at Classik, Travel, Pangeran etc. I usually tip 100k but that's because I always do two shots and / or ask for BBBJ and / or bareback.
I also thinks the first day of Eid is treated as above, but have never been there for that as the whole country just about shuts down and not worthwhile being there for business.
Yes, often the first day and perhaps the day before and the day after the first days are particularly strict. I'm not really sure if Idul Fitri itself is "strict" or if it's just a matter of logistics, everyone's gone home.
So tipping.
Do what you want to do. I always laugh when guys say "Don't tip too much, you'll spoil the market." If I want to tip or pay more than the going price, that's between me and the girl. I'm not out there as a signed up representative of the Mongers Community. I think being slightly generous gets you much better service next time if you go back to the same place, even if it's a different girl. And if you don't, well, it just makes me feel good to give a girl who's done a good job a bit of extra money and see her smile. I get my rocks off AND I go away feeling like a generous guy. I usually tip 50k regardless, unless it's wilfully bad service or seriously bad attitude. If it's just a lack of skill or enthusiasm, she gets 50k extra and no repeat service.
You talk about making the same salary as a well-off Indonesian. Indonesian guys tip girls, often quite a lot if they like them. They also tip golf caddies, waiters and other useful proles. I used to go out mongering with a local Chinese guy, young and wealthy family, but not rolling in it personally. He gave crazy amounts to girls if he thought they were a bit special (we often disagreed: the usual breakdown, he was into pale skin and mancung noses). Golf caddies also tell me that locals are better tippers than bules. I think locals understand that no-one really lives on their wages in this country.
I'm not in gas and oil, either.
I usually tip 50k regardless, unless it's wilfully bad service or seriously bad attitude. If it's just a lack of skill or enthusiasm, she gets 50k extra and no repeat service.
I give about the same at the cheapo short time places like Classic, Travel, etc. 100k for a girl who does a good job. 50k for mediocre. Nothing if she pisses me off and is horrible (very rare that happens).
I see no problem with tipping those girls 100k. They spend an hour in there servicing you and almost always let you get off 2 shots in that hour. It's less than 300k for that hour. I don't mind giving them that extra 100k. As a matter of fact, I think that's pretty much the standard tip these days even for the locals.
Where I see the problem to be is not the tip at those type of places, but the prices guys are paying to take girls out of places like CJ's, BATS, etc. I keep hearing about guys giving 1. 5 million for all night. That's too much in my opinion.

I spose a newcomer to town might feel safe in the hotel bar and think that going down to Palatehan or Kota was slightly too edgy or something.
