Fisrt time Pattaya visitor need help

Need some help on where to stay and how to approach girls in Pattaya.
I am planning for 2 night stay in Pattaya by the end of this month.
Can some one recommend a good/safe hotel close to the action? And also how to approach the girls here? Do I have to take them to my hotel or rent another room to spend time with the girl? How much would it be?
And also do I need a visa to go to Pattaya, I am planning to take break journey and have american green card.
Your help will be much appreciated.

the night shift lineup is excellent right now, with about 20 girls working. imho half a dozen are equal to the hottest girls you'd see in the walking street go-gos, and one night there was an absolute stunner wandering in and out. (she seemed to dance less than the others.) the rest of the girls are no slouches either. all were young and fit. if you're into ink, there is a bleached blonde spinner with a smoking little body who has quite a few tattoos and a high-energy style.
the current entertainment format alternates go-go dancing with shows. during the former the main stage has at six to ten girls dancing, plus a couple more on two side stages. some wear the standard go-go outfit (supershort pleated miniskirt worn low on the hips with tiny flimsy bikini top). others adopt a "coyote" look, with impossibly small, supertight boy shorts and a bikini top. but they're all on the program. while some girls will dance semi-topless during the go-go portion, most do not.
during the shows a smaller number of girls takes to the main stage. they dance naked, their bodies adorned with paint that glows under black light. the girls in the show are a subset of the girls who dance during the go-go sessions. i suppose the club believes these girls are better looking than the others. but to my eye that wasn't the case. during the show the girls just dance. there is no interaction with each other, or with the patrons.
if you are a fan of body paint i guess this could be entertaining. to me, it was no big deal. one thing that detracts from the body paint show is that a guy comes on stage at the start to finish painting one of the girls. at first i thought they were just running behind in their preparations. but it's apparently part of the show. perhaps the theory is that some customers find it erotic to see the paint being applied. to me, it just a distraction. when i'm doing the sip and stare thing at a strip club or go-go bar the last thing i want is any male interruption -- whether it be yammering djs exhorting me to tip well, or waiters in lieu of waitresses.
after the shows the painted girls retire to the shower to wash up. in the champagne club, however, there is a plate glass window that allows the patrons to watch this from their seats. it usually seemed like there were two or maybe three girls in the shower following each show. so it would appear they take turns providing the post-show sudsy seduction. i don't recall that there was much girl-on-girl interaction during the showers. but it was still worth a look. the girls are of course hot. and the lighting inside the shower is such that their skin looks very nice indeed as they soap and scrub.
even though i visited early in the week the club was full. granted, it's not a large venue. but it's off the beaten path. so the crowd suggest to me that pattaya punters favor the place. bottled beer was 120 baht and there was a commendable lack of hassle. the waitresses didn't pressure me to buy more drinks, and the girls were willing to let me sit undisturbed. nice!
it has been reported there are short time rooms upstairs at the champagne club and some patrons were offered the chance to take the dancers up for a spin. supposedly this irked the authorities and sparked the recent raid. not sure why that would be. the "choose lady, have drink, go upstairs for short time" business model is well-entrenched on soi 6.
in any event, i didn't observe any customers headed upstairs during my time in the club. as a matter of fact, i didn't observe any customers headed out the front door with girls either. granted, the beer and the view drastically reduced my powers of observation. but i think it's fair to say there was a fair amount of "just looking" going on the nights i visited.
to be sure, i was new in town and definitely not up to speed. but it seemed to me the club attracted groups of guys who were well familiar with the scene in pattaya. they seemed to fit the profile of the long term resident or guys on extended holiday. watching them share a drink and a laugh i got the impression the club was a nice place to start the evening with a little "tune up" while enjoying some spectacular scenery in a low key environment. turnover seemed to be brisk. that said, nobody ever did or said anything to me that suggested i was not welcome. indeed, even though i was very new in town i had a great time.
i didn't pull from this club, so i cannot comment on what short time hotels might be available in the vicinity. nor can i provide any data on the bar fine or the going rates for the girls.
finally, i never stayed until closing time. but i was in a bar very close by (the oasis club - worth a look too) when the clock struck 2:00 a.m. the lights came up on the second and it was clear that it would not be wise to tarry.

But anybody who spends a third of a million dollars on vacation shopping is used to the best. He's going to be staying at a much nicer hotel. And his hookers are going to be drawn from a pool of talent that is invisible to the rest of us. I suspect the loss estimate is grossly inflated by the victim, the police or both.
Second, I loved this note in the news story: "Police revealed that the ID cards which the suspects had left at the hotel reception desk were actually genuine and after tracking their movements eventually arrested the two women at an apartment in Soi Ramkumhang 65, Bangkok." And let's not forget that hotels are crawling with security cameras. As any grizzled detective will tell you, the only ones they catch are the stupid and the slow.
Third, watching the video of the re-enactment at the hotel where the robbery took place the girls seemed almost jolly in their demeanor. What do you make of that?
