(1) You can dress in layers at night i.e. sweat shirt over Thermal T-shirt etc. The downside is you will have to pack extra clothes.
(2) Buy a electric blanket. It is not that bulky. It will be easier to carry if you do not open the new package. You can carry in a shopping bag, as part of your carry-on.

Electric voltage in Colombia is 110 V (same as USA). You may need a power plug adapter if you are coming from another country.
I prefer option # 2. You can use the dial control to make it warmer or cooler depending on the temperature in your room.

However, neither place is reasonable walking distance to Santa Fe.

I wouldn't have complained about the no heat at the one place, but it was a particularly cold, wet night, I'd left my jacket at my place in Medellin and I had walked from the airport all the way down to Teusaquillo in a light drizzle (don't ask).

Some people say they'll provide a heater, but if I'm paying 60 Euro a night I don't expect replies like 'I'm not putting a heater there because electricity costs are very high in Bogota' !? WTF! Yes mate, but you're charging lots of money for the place! Who wants to sit in a place in the evening dressed like an eskimo, not me! Might have to just stay in a hotel then I suppose if can't find a better rental. I will be going to the coast too by the way.

For me the number one monger destination is Germany, while Switzerland, Austria or Holland are also good options, not exactly third world countries and one of the worst shoud be something between Mauritania, Afghanistan, Sudan or Pakistan, not exactly rich countries.

So many times I read the different thread and I would likely pay a visit to that location, but one reason I don't? The lack of photo's. This is just an excellent photo and a super nice looking chic. Maybe soon I will come to Bogota, but as for now, I spend most of my time in Medellin. I am tempted to try Bogota, but the weather does nothing to entice me, I am very tropical and hate the cold, even a little drop in the temperatures makes me crazy, but for the right group of chicas I might put on a sweater or two and brave the cold. Something about photos that make me want to see the exact location of where board members say these girls are found. As for now, I will continue to have a ball in Medellin and enjoy the nice weather of Antioquia. Pollo Negro is out!

[/QUOTE]I was there this past October 2018 and have the same observations BUT I was there on a Friday and Saturday night and the venies were literally shoulder to shoulder most of the block, I am thinking WTF, I found a really cute, I mean really cute 22 yo venie, thin with a perfect smile that could have been a model on Abercrombie & Fitch as a teenager, I just had to have her, great attitude and fun.

The more education and the better off a chick is financially, the least the chances of her being a hooker. I am by no means saying that ALL poor chicks will be hookers, but it is definitely an ingredient in the recipe.

I will be in Bogota in March 7 too. Would be nice if we can meet as It's going to be my first time as well. Why you want to rent an airbnb? I was able to find nice 4 stars hotels for around $50/ night in Zona Rosa. Is there any reason that you want to rent an Airbnb? Aren't hotels more comfortable and safer for the first timers?

The hotel I am in now I have been staying in for a couple of years. I had a girlfriend though so I was never running chicks in and out. It was just her, then I would walk down to Santa Fe when she was at work or whatever.

Well I had one chick that I have known for about 10 years come by 2 days ago. She stayed about 30 min. Yesterday I came in with another chick and before they would let her up they made me pay 57K ($18). She stayed about an hour and a half before she had to get back to work. In an airbnb you probably won't have that type of problem. To me what sux about airbnb is the service fee and cleaning fee that they add. I guess you have to pick your poison.

Ubers a lotta trouble taxis have a rate card posted the number you see corresponds to a value on the card pretty straight forward. I wouldn't know if a taxis messing with meter but 30 k is max I've ever paid.

Its virtually impossible to get a fair deal with Colombian you have to constantly repeat how much your paying and what you want. Even after she agrees they just think its a free for all all the time.
