It would certainly not be sensible to do so on any population, as you rightly stated. All I was saying was, my personal experiences so far reflect a humdrum one but surely there have been some rather smart women which hopefully will grow as I veer away from the hot spots. Can they discuss Nietzsche or Tolstoy in between sessions? (smiley)

I have to find a store that sells unlocked blackberries. The blackberry will pretty much be a travel phone when I go to different countries and I don't want to sign up for a 2 year contract just to get a blackberry.

I was looking at a textbook for learning English the other day that is in use on the North Coast and it was full of mistakes. For example translation of "ladylike" is given as "homosexual", and includes the phrase "cash your bread upon the waters!" (For those unfamiliar with the Bible, the original phrase is "cast your bread".)

The cost of transportation plus the tax that the government may place on the goods will jack up the price. I remember my first time to the Bahamas in 1994 seeing a pack of Oreos in Winn Dixie for $6, when they might have been $2.50 at the Winn Dixie back home.

And tax is indeed a MF. I was in Paris a few months ago and decided to go to the grocery store to check on the price of Hennessy. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the shit cost more in France, where it is made, than it does in the USA. And it's all due to taxes.

There is no excuse for this as any literate English speaker could have checked through and made corrections in 10 minutes. It is just that Dominicans [i]always[/i] think they know best and hate to be corrected.

In a city the size of Puerto Plata (100, 000) there is only one bookshop worth the name and the selection there is pretty basic.

Innate IQ varies very little with race or culture and the small differences that have been found are likely due to measuring errors because of cultural differences.

However if you are discussing educational standards or social awareness then Dominicans are the pits.

All I know is that as a general rule most of the Dominicans that I have met (and I have met my share) are pretty damn stupid, sorry. All one has to do is look around while they are out and about and you will see stupidity all around you.

New residential building on pasteur next door to v centanario hotel, might be available for short term stays, when it opens. Hotel Frances on calle mercedes in zona colonial, does Not allow guests to use the pool at its sister hotel the nicholas ovando (hodelpa hotels in santiago allow its guests to use the pool at the gran almirante for guests staying at the less expensive centro plaza).

Hotel Clarion in Santo Domingo had nice rooms, guest friendly if you give the names of chicas at check in, workers seemed pleasant and accommodating. Small pool at the Clarion, but guests are allowed to use the olympic size pool at the gym body shop athletic which is a few blocks from the clarion. The rooms I saw at the Clarion were refurbished and nice, free breakfast and free wifi.

The new residential building behind 305 is owned by a cuban.
