What's a 'Hotac'? This budget is very high-end. I visit Pattaya for a few days on this budget:

Hotel 450-700
Food 500
Girl(s) 500-1,500
Drinks 200
motorbike 150
other 500

Total 2,300 to 3,550 per day

The main difference being whether I take one girl per day or two. Also note - renting a motorbike is one of the best values in Pattaya, as you will reduce your taxi costs more than the 100-200 per day the bike costs, as well as experiencing a hugely increased freedom of movement. Nothing worse than trudging around on foot.

That's 1 beer and 1 LD day + some water in 7/11..
Dunno how u can do that but that's impossible ..IMO.

I don't drink or buy lady drinks. Cokes and the like are usually around 50 baht in bars.

Used mainly in the travel business.

No need for lady drinks, bar fines or the ridiculous prices bars charge for a bevvy.

There are hundreds of freelancers on the beach road and elsewhere, and in my experience their service is as good as if not better than bar girls. They ask for less, give as much or more and help those who are on a tight budget.

In my report of a couple of weeks back, I stated how I had 4 girls for just 1200bt.truly excellent service and all very happy to come with me. No lady drinks to pay for, although we did have some beer in the room, bought at normal retail prices, which made the experiences all the more enjoyable.

Bars, bar fines and the greedy girls found in most are unnecessary.

I must admit Bumholes that I stray to the bars once in a while. For those of us who knew the Beach Road a few years ago it is hard to be satisfied there now. I'm not sure if it is the police crackdowns or some other force brought to bear but the numbers and quality of girls on the Road are way, way down. There are also hardly any ladyboys compared to before, which also suggests the police are behind the alteration. I don't partake of those 'ladies', but have always found their presence a cheerful sign.

Still, one can find the occasional diamond, which is the whole reason for beachcombing.

Those low priced Freelancers/SW could end up costing a whole lot more than any overpriced go-go girl. These stories about Falangs being drugged by Freelancers are reported with some frequency but you have to wonder how many more are not reported. Frugal Mongers take note and be aware of who you are picking up, the 300b short time is not always 300b as you can see in this story below, be safe.

Italian drugged and robbed by woman in Central Pattaya Apartment.

[i]Police Sergeant Major Ootin, a Tourist Police Detective received a report from Security Guards working at an apartment complex in Central Pattaya that an Italian had just been drugged and robbed of his possessions. Police arrived and went to the victim’s room. Mr. Claudic Ballarini aged 53 from Italy was lying on the bed in a dazed state. He explained that he had met a woman on Pattaya Beach and, for an agreed fee, she accompanied him back to his room. When the pair arrived, the woman offered Mr. Ballarini what appeared to be a wine gum. Moments later, Mr. Ballarini passed out and a security guard noticed that the woman left alone and decided to check the room and found Mr. Ballarini sleeping on the bed. 2,000 Baht in cash, a gold necklace and a gold bracelet were apparently taken by the woman. Tourist Police are now questioning known prostitutes who work on Pattaya Beach and will attempt to locate and arrest the woman in due course.[/i]

You make a valid point, and this is most important especially for 1st time visitors.. However, I am sure that Opebo, like myself is well aware of the hidden dangers, and have no money gold or other possessions with us nor in the room.

Drugging is negligible - hyped up by the media. There are hundreds of freelancers active everyday, many having repeat customers. The odds are minute, and you are far more likely to get hit by a baht bus whilst making your way with the freelancer to your bed.

You know what you are going to pay for the girl, you know how much for the room and a beer or 2, so never carry more money than you need. Split it up between all your pockets. If you are a tourist staying in a reasonable hotel with all your belongings take her to a short time hotel. She will know where, and it will only cost 100/150

In 20+ years, and many hundreds of freelancers, I have NEVER had any sort of problem. 99% of the time they were excellent - just a few starfish, and NO NO's - No I won't smoke. No don't touch my tits. No I won't do doggy - thats about it.

I agree with bumholes1. I have been with both bar girls and freelancers and think that I have gotten better performance (on the average) from a freelancer then from a beer bar girl or a go go girl. Been here several days now and have yet to pay a barfine.

Bumholes point is well taken though...one does has to excersize caution and good judgement when being with these girls. After having said that....I hope that my DATY with a freelancer I had earlier will be ok and that I will not bring anything back home with me except my tailor made suits ;-)

Arrived back in Pattaya after a 6 month absence, its good to be reminded all the time that I am so hansome, I am even beginning to believe it myself. I am staying at the Eastiny Place on Soi 8 a hotel I highly regard. It is spotlessly clean, very accomodating, has a nice pool and all for 1100 baht, plus it is in the centre of the action.
Am not into beer bar girls or go go girls and like to explore the freelancer action, even trying the malls, shops and other places for potential targets. On my second day I had a stroll down the beach road and found a pair of girls sitting opposite the Royal Garden Plaza.
Both seemed uniterested in Farang watching and both had their backs to the foot path, looking out towards the beach and sea.
One woman was in her late 30's but the other at a guess was about 18 or 19. I started chatting to them both, but with lustful intent on the young girl. It transpires she was a new arrival from Isaan, couldn't speak very much English (always a good sign in my book) and had joined her sister who was already working in Pattaya and had just split up from her Norwegian boyfriend. (I interpreted this to mean her sister was a WG). I speak Thai so was able to have a reasonable conversation with both and after a few pleasantries I suggested the younger one come with me. She seemed reluctant at first, however we agreed to meet later that evening. I suggested she come to my hotel but she said she would prefer to meet me back at the beach as she did not know her way around Pattaya (another good sign)
Money was not discussed at any point and I left them both feeling a sense of anticipation in my trousers.
Anyway after meeting the girl, having some drinks we retired to the hotel at about 10. I know it was very early but I was tired and feel very horny. Di as her name is was actually 18 with the slimmest cutest body, tight ass and stomach and not one ounce of fat....my ideal.
She seemed very inexperienced and it transpired I was her very first Farang, though she admitted she did have a Thai bf before.
Anyway the sex was ok, but I guess part of the turn on for me was her relative inexperience and young age of 18.
There was little in the way of foreplay or touching from her and she even seemed reluctant to kiss. Anyway it was not of great importance this time due to me feeling like a man who had just come out of prison after 10 years.
In the morning I left her my number, 1000 baht which she seemed happy with and off she went. We agreed to meet later that day, though I thought to myself I will keep her as a reserve just in case I do not meet anything better looking.
Later that day she called. I told her I would see her again on condition she was more responsive and that I expected OWO full kissing and lots of touching. She agreed and so began my second night with this girl.
This time the performance was a 100 times better and she performed OWO hesitatingly at first, but she soon got into the swing of things. I responded with DATY and then plunged inside her making her gasp and groan. She came with gasps and a scream as I did and we both collapsed in a heap on the bed spending the rest of the night cuddling.
I gave her 1000 baht again this morning and bought her breakfast. I felt a bit pissed that she just took the money without so much as a thank you, but what the hell it it just a minor complaint.
I am planning to see her tonight but am now thinking about looking elsewhere for something different.

The only problem with these cheap short time hotels is that they are mostly filthy dumps with stained sheets, phone booth sized bathrooms, no hot water, and usually no air conditioning. I can't get comfortable for a good sex session in at place like that so I end up taking them home in spite of the potential risks.
