I cannot understand why we don't have more reports. This is probably one of the best values in Europe or even the world. Girl's are asking 20 Euro on Filis street and 50 at the studios. After reading NewOrlean's post I decided to give it another try. After doing the normal siteseeing I decided to walk over to Filis St. It's about 7 blocks from the Athens Railway Station. After arriving from the south I began to look for the white lights in front of the buildings. As soon as I spotted one I walked in and set down in the lounge area. Yes, Visa is widely accepted at restaurants, however I've never tried to use a credit or debit card while mongering. I do not recommend it.

To get cash, I bank with HSBC, they have ATM's in over 80 countries if not more. I normally only get money from the ATM machine at the current spot Forex rate for the day. No fees with HSBC. Currently $100 USD gets you 90 Euros. Likewise 100 Euros will cost you $110. I never use the money changers because the buy and sell spread is too significant. In the Foreign Exchange market the spread is only a few "pips. "Whereas when you attempt to buy money from the airport you may receive 81 Euros for 100 Dollars and when you go to sell 81 Euros back to them, they will give you only about $75. So they get you coming and going.

Eating out in Greece has very fair prices. Liquor and wine is very affordable these days.

Finally, yes they size you up when you walk in to the Brothels on Filis. However if you speak the language you should be OK. Good luck and bring cash!

Greece is odd, there is legal prostitution, however it is very unorganized I have received various levels of service irrespective of the price, my best experience being a 20 Euro girl on Filis.
