Looking for some advice on sites to use. I have tried out latinAmericaCupid and Tinder. The price structure is quite high LAC and you can't respond to emails unless you have upgraded your membership. The problem there is most of the women also have basic profiles so you really can't communicate. I've also looked at Tinder without much success. Let me know if there are any sites anyone recommends to meet and chat with Colombian women. Thanks in advance.

I've always had to pay the 99 k cop fee online to get a 90 day visa extension on the tourist visa, as I was under the impression you could only stay 90 days on a tourist visa without an extension.

But when I got to the airport they marked a "90" on my passport, meaning I have another 90 days here, having already spent 84 in the spring.

They said I get 180 total days per calendar year, and the 90 *consecutive* days restart when you leave the county. The extension is only if you want more than 180 total days in a calendar year.

So, for future reference to anyone reading this, you get 180 total days a year in Colombia as a tourist, but cannot stay more than 90 consecutive days.

The consecutive day counter restarts when you leave the country, and the 180 days restart on Jan. 1st every year.

All that headache for nothing! LOL.

First, without an extension you can only stay in the country for 90 days. But, if you get the extension while within the country you can stay up to 180 days total.

If you come into the country, stay less than or up to 90 days, and then leave, you can then re-enter and stay up to another 90 days. You don't have to do anything in particular to do this.

The extension only applies in situation 1. And without some other type of visa you cannot get an extension to stay more than 180 days.

I'm also being told that if you stay for instance, 65 days, and then you leave. An immigration guy said that counter picks up where it left off when you left, and you only have 25 days before you need to submit an extension, not another 90 days.

But no where is it written that you must stay out for a minimum of 90 consecutive days after your previous entry stamp date. For the sake of simplicity, let's say each month is 30 days, instead of 31 or 28. Suppose you enter on Jan 1, then you must leave by March 30. Suppose you exit March 28. And you re-enter March 29. Then is your new visa stamp only good for 1 day? Doesn't seem to me any government would issue 1 day visas since the risk of overstay would be extraordinarily high. Suppose the same scenario, you enter Jan 1 and exit March 28. And re-enter April 1. Then you get a fresh 90 day visa because your new entry date is outside the 90 days of your previous visa. It is illogical. Every time you legally exit the country, your 90 day allowance resets, with the exception being if you have already stayed 91 days for more in that calendar year. I also have an exit on 28 Feb 2022 and an entrance on 3 Jun 2022, on other pages. All four entrances have 90 days authorized.

Not that anything government related has to make sense, but it truley is the only thing that makes sense and is manageable. The government wants our tourist dollars and I seriously doubt many people claim the tax rebate.

There's a small chance I am coming back with only like 25 days left before year end. I'll report back if I do and a smaller number is written on my passport. I'm also leaving in October and will report back if anyone says anything.

I recently took a trip to Medellin and stayed in the Poblado area. I can walk for hours where I live with no problems but there are zero hills where I am. Walking in Poblado is completely different. I'm in my early fifties and am of average height and about average BMI. Hill walking is much much harder than flat walking. If you're not used to it, I recommend hitting the treadmill at an incline to maybe make it easier. That's what I'm going to do next trip.
