Hi June,
Thank you for your insightful comments. I downloaded the inDrive app, and I now feel much more comfortable navigating Lima.
I still have one question that has not been discussed much in the thread. Many people seem to recommend going directly to Chogos for nightlife, but I am also interested having a girl over the night, I am wondering how can I find resources for that? Does SG typically do a all night or only a few hours?
Could you also suggest a convenient area to stay close to nightlife while still being comfortable and easy to reach by car?
Thank you again for your help.
It is highly improbable that you will find girls in Chongos or on the street to stay with you overnight. Their modus operandi is usually to make as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time without any emotional involvement with their clients. Some of these girls have a boss, establishment, family, and kids, so they are not likely to stay out past 1 am.
You might have better luck with trying Jockey's contacts, dating apps or by going to bars and clubs. I was at a bar in Lince and met a few fun girls, but they were quickly approached by a group of guys, and with my limited Spanish, they beat me to the punch. I ended up befriending the waitress who was working there and asked if she could invite any single girl in the bar or her friends to join me for a drink. I gave her a generous tip and told her I would give her more if she could help. It was a slow night, so she tried calling some friends, but when she couldn't find anyone, she ended up hanging out with me for drinks. We made plans to meet the next day since she had the day off.
I also met a very nice woman through Couchsurfing for dinner at a nice restaurant and drinks at a trendy rooftop bar. She is a successful attorney in her 40's, very smart, good looking, well traveled, cultured, speaks five languages. She is not the type who would sleep with a stranger on a first date, maybe after a second or third date. She was traveling to her hometown Huancayo the next day, but we promised to keep in touch as she has plans to travel to USA later this month to meet her sister in Chicago.
Sometimes we just need to improvise and create opportunities vs just looking for the obvious places. If you are willing to spend, you can make this whether you choose to stay in touristy Miraflores or in suburbs in Lince, San Borja. I found Peruvian women in general are friendly, non-judgmental, even though they can be jealous and complicated like most Latino women.
