Can someone on the ground in Rio please confirm this, please?
I was browsing through some local brazilian forums and read that. 4 X 4 charges a 10 real entry for people entering the establishment late in the night. If so what hours do they charge the discounted entry fee and is it 10 reals as I just read this? It would solve the late night decision making really fast for people like me on the fence to go or not to go. Well, at least for me. For 10 reals a latenight run to (Compared to the normal $50 reals) 4 X 4 would be an outstanding alternative. The person claiming the 10 real entry fee entered the Terma past 10:00pm. Can someone on the ground in Rio please verify if this is true or not and what time does the discount entry fee takes effect if it is available. Thank you in advance.
Solarium Sucks and Centaurus Blows

But tonight I went to Solarium, largely because the comment above made me think that maybe, just maybe, things had changed at Solarium since my last 3 trips (which admittedly had been on weekends). And, to be fair, I went in part because my recent fav from Monte Carlo was rumored to be working there. So that's a double negative to report: she's not working there. And Solarium sucks. I don't know what alternate dimension Captain Nemo's Solarium exists in. And honestly more power to him for finding it. But tonight, Tuesday night, at 9pm it sucked.
The boate was full of Brazilian dudes grinding up against the girls. And the girls were a motley collection of big-bunda'd and fake-boobied 6s and worse. I seriously see hotter girls at 502 all the time. Or 4x4. And without a doubt at 65. And until recently (this week) at MC, in fact I would still say MC has hotter girls. I was standing there for 20 minutes, hoping and praying that someone doable would show up. Not to be. And this has been the consistent fact of my last 4 trips now to Solarium. Trust me, when the Cartman goes to a T, it is with intent. I had 1. 5 viagras in me and I was ready to let rip since my last sexo was probably Weds last week. Instead I got a very expensive (R$80) shower. I am done with this place for at least 6 months. Bubba, if I suggest going back before 2012, please smack me.
So anyway, my buddy and I head out. And he is insistent on going to Centaurus. Claims he knows girls there and that it is fantastic. My gal pal at L'Uomo hasn't texted me back to say she's working, and it's 10pm so choices are getting limited. On principal I have avoided Centaurus since moving to Rio in October 2010. But at this point, I'm like, what the hell let's have a look (eu vou dar uma olhada). There were a handful of good things. For one, perhaps because we spoke in Porto and brooked no retorts, we only paid the entrada (R$120. Yes are you shitting me, it's R$120). The other good thing is I got to use the phrase "Fatty McFatties" repeatedly but we'll get to that.
I brushed off the chicks that glom on to you right away at the lockers. Got changed and headed up to the boate. Note. On my way out later, the fucking attendant asked me for a tip. I said (in porto)"For what? What have you done that merits a tip?" She slunk away. FUCK HER. I spent 12hours (8:30am. 8:30pm) today at my office working and nobody gave me a fucking tip.
The boate was somewhat full and, man, were the chicks heinous. I counted like 4 fatty mcfatties, and a bunch of strung-out crack working girl looking types (think, blonde, old, drawn). Where are the 18. 22 yearolds? This was crazy like some alternate universe Terma where bad garotas go to die. It was really bad. We kept looking around and counting the heinosities. Even my buddy couldn't defend it and admitted that 65 is sporting a way stronger lineup. I was stunned. It's like going to Porcao for Picanha Nobre and getting ground chuck. I mean, at Centaurus prices you expect top fucking talent. And instead it was again maybe 6s and just simply horrible chicks that I would only consider banging at private prices (R$80).
Hung out there until about 11. 30 and it got marginally better when 1-2 younger girls came in. What made it even more funny was my buddy saying "Hey that's my pal's ex-girlfriend." and I'm like, oh really. And as I go for a closer look, I recognize her from the giant "Jonathan Love Forever" tattoo on her back. My friend Churroman banged her and her sister back in 2009 when she was working at MC and came over to our apartment. Then this past January we both ran into her at the Havianas store on Xavier the Silveira in Copa. I reminded her of this and, well, she didn't seem amused (quite annoyed actually). But boy was I amused!
Anyway at this point I'm like, fuck, I have 1. 5 V's in me and I just want to get my nut off. I was really torn between flat-out leaving and just finding someone, anyone, doable so I could amortize my now R$200 in entradas between Solarium and Centaurus. So I spot a younger looking girl who has good energy and is dancing around. Chat to her a bit and she seems ok. 26. No kids. Lives in Zona Norte. Used to have a boyfriend but doesn't now. I'm like, good enough let's go. Of course being Centaurus, I have to go downstairs and pay first. R$330 (!) for 40 mins. So that means my total all-in is going to be R$450 plus drinks (R$3 agua com gas). Up to the room, she tells me to wait "2 minutes" and actually comes back like 10 mins later. Smoking a cigarette. I'm like, um, this room is the size of a closet so please don't smoke. She agrees. Her name by the way is Malu or something but says her real name is EmmaNoelle. Brunette, shoulder length hair, tattoo on her right back shoulder, slim, carioca.
Start with some light kissing and she simply will not DFK. I say "You don't like kissing?" and she says she does but I get nothing. Then she sits on the bed, grabs a condom, and tries to blow me with a condom. I'm like WTF? I say to her "You are going to be the first girl in Rio to blow me with a condom, and that's not a good position for you or me." She laughs and keeps trying. I flat out tell her "Nao da! Nao da!" [this board changes d-a to "the" wtf?] and she finally relents and gives me a middling BBBJ. Then it's quickly back to camisina for some pounding. I can tell she wants me to come quick so I at least string it out (thank you V) and make her work for it over 20 mins or so. In the middle she gets up to turn down the lights. I'm like, listen, I understand why you don't want to look at me, but I want to look at you and I'm paying. So she puts them back on.
Overall, had to be some of the most uninspired, boring sex I've had. Quite possibly the 2nd worst since I moved here (1st prize going to Balcony chick who decided, midway, that she wanted the money and then I had to kick her out).
On my way downstairs, some other chick corners me and asks me how I'm doing. I tell her, well, I just had really bad sex and won't come back. She tells me I should complain to the manager at the front desk. What's the point? I blow off the tip-seeking attendant, and settle my bill. Counter guy says R$3 for the water. I happen to have R$3 and the rest are R$50 notes. I give him the R$3 and ask if he can break a R$50 for me for change. He says no. I say, you're kidding right? He says no. I say, what would have happened if I didn't have R$3. You would give me change. He agrees. So I ask for change for the R$50. He says, no all I have is this wad of R$10 notes and they need to last all night. FUCKER.
Catch a cab home and thankfully the driver can make change. I'm texting my buddy on the way, reporting on the bad times.
Bottom line. TLDR version:
1) Solarium sucks. Fatties and 6s. Expensive. Far (R$15. $20 cab each way). Completely not worth it. Avoid.
2) Centaurus sucks. Crazy prices for Rio. Bad service. Heinous chicks. Completely not worth it. Avoid.
Now this is just my opinion. Your results may vary. Especially if you are some hard-up schmohawk sex tourist (American, in particularly) escaping from pussy prison and in Rio for a short time. Or if, frankly, you have very different tastes than me. But after a solid 8+ months of living here, and hitting at least 1-2-3 T's on a weekly basis, getting girls to spend weekends and nights with me at my apartment, etc, I have to say that there are much better options out there.
Fucking slap me around if I go back to either before 2012, if at that.

I've said about Centaurus.
If we all avoid it, something should change. Either it closes, it gets bought out or they should start treating customers better than they have. The fact now that they have heinous chicks working there puts this place on my never, never, never go list. I always have an open mind about places, but for BR450 for 40 minutes or BR550 for an hour, there are way better options out there. I rank the Termas / Casas and I will contrast the value of services agaist Centaurus and their ridiculous pricing structure:
1. Quatro por Quatro (4 X 4) : 80 girls of all shapes and sizes; you can't find what you are looking for there, you just need to get on the plane and leave Rio! For BR220 before 5pm (They wave the BR50 entrance if you take someone before 5 o'clock) , you can do a dupla (BR440) if you choose and have change left vs Centaurus. The only catch is, you may miss on some options because the last wave of girls gets there at 5:00pm. I usually tell those on the last shift to get there a little before 5:00pm the next day and have my way with them. Avoiding the entrance fee.
2. Termas 65: 25 to 40 girls, every shape and size and really nice facilities. A bit pricier than most in Centro, but they do have some nice round butts in there! To session it is now BR350 for the hour plus BR80 entry fee. They sometimes allow you to consume part or all of the entrance fee depending on the day of the week. So they stack up evenly with Centaurus just that you get an hour vs 40 minutes in the cabine with the provider.
3. Termas 502: About 30 to 40+ girls. For the price it can't be beat. That is BR160 for an hour plus BR20 (They let you have 3 drinks with entry fee?) entry fee; that's BR180 for an hour of fun. Compared to Centaurus that's BR340 for a dupla if you choose to double the fun and have plenty of change left.
4. Any casa in Centro, or Tijuca, or anywhere else. I have been to some casas that let you have duplas for as little as BR140/160 for an hour. So compared to Centaurus, you could have 3 duplas in any casa and have plenty left over. If you do one girl at a time (BR70 to 110 per hour) , you could have 5 to 8 girls. 5 to 8 hours of fun, if you do them one at a time. Not mentioning the Villa Mimosa (About BR35 per session) where you could have 15 girls and have some change or the real a minute places where you money can go even further.
IMHO, it is a matter of share numbers. I like buying ass in bulk, like at Costco or Sams Club, period. The more ass you get the more fun you will have. Best part is when they get a liking to you and invite themselves to your hotel during weekends or during their time off, it gets fun and tricky. Due to the lengths of my visits I've turned more of these girls away than I can count but I do keep their phone numbers and e-mail addresses for future reference. I'm just old, it takes me a while to recharge so I need the full hour to session at least 2 times with the girls while there, but at the hotel I need the rest so I can continue to sample the selections available in bunda land.
One session in Centaurus is a complete waste of time and money even if they have all 10's there. I've met lots of former providers from there at other Termas, casas and other spots. There just isn't enough work there for the girls to make a go at it so they keep moving to the other Termas and in some cases to casas to pay their bills.
Centaurus --- Another Perspective
Facilities are crap (except for the size of the rooms), receptionists are jerks, girls are aggressive and annoying, it is way overpriced but ... They don't care. The reason is simple. They cater to high-end Brazilians, not gringos. In the US we have country clubs where business executives make deals. Try to find a country club in Rio. Oh, you have. It is called a termas. It is where business gets done. If you speak Portuguese the termas is the place to meet and socialize with the business and political elite. In the US who picks up those country club dues? If you are putting together a multi-million Reais deal who cares about R$450 for 40 minutes. In the US those dues maintain the facilities and pay staff but they also do one other thing. Keep out the riffraff (as in gringos). I rarely see business executives from São Paulo in L'uomo or Monte Carlo but I see groups of them all the time in Centaurus. If you want to do business in Rio (and Brazil) you go to Centaurus. Fore!!!
