None of this stuff should have been a surprise
When entering the bar, you get surrounded by 7 or 9 beauties, a warm welcome.
*snip*
1st surprise: I never ask the lady how much she wants; I offer myself. Asked if she agreed on 20 usd ST. She could not, 40 dollars would do. Gave her a surprised look, but she held on her 40 dollar. Then, the yes or no is up to me, I will not discuss for 5 or 10 dollar discount. Keep it nice and friendly, even I know I overpay.
2nd surprise: Asked for the bill, 17 dollar. Guess barfine included. Took the change, and 3-4 girls started shouting tip-tip-tip! Never saw this in Cambodia, never payed any 'tip' as expected in Thailand. I gave 1 dollar tip.
3rd surprise: Not a room upstairs, had to go out, a 5 minutes walk, payed 7 dollars for a room.
4th surprise: Gave her the 40 dollar but she wanted 2 dollar extra for motorbike taxi.
Damage: 17 + 1 + 7 + 40 + 2: 67 dollars. Think I better stick to the freelancers as in Martinis, Walkabout or Sharky. Many available for 15 usd, I always give 20. Sometimes they stay till morning, despite the agreement on ST.
Indeed, I was the only customer at that time.
Hi NokBKK. None of these things are surprises. The $40 is the standard, has been for a while (I first paid that in April last year). The bar charge does include the bar fine, and the short term room is to the right and across the street as you leave Cyrcee. The 2 dollars she hit you up for, for motorbike, was just her way of getting a little cash from somebody who didn't look inclined to tip! So, don't feel bad--you didn't overpay. From your references to Martini's and Walkabout, I think your Cambodia knowledge is a bit dated. TTG.
Kl. Such a bad place to be stuck in.
Firstly, apologies for asking for information but ............................ If I don't manage to get this booked I'll be stuck In KL & the description of the punting scene there isn't very encouraging.
Yeah BC & TC, the spa's, the massage places, the pimps, even the freelancers.
