Welcome home Cebu Local,
I heard that you won some big travel industry award. Congrats.
I have often thought about availing myself of both the Cathy Pacifics and the Seairs "air passes". Seem like a good way to go.

Sorry to bother again, but can anyone answer my post below?
Thanks
Cebu Local,
Welcome Back!
Missed your sagely advice and always liked your reports!
can somebody translate this for me???
"wla pa gihapon koy passport, mo balik ang italiano karong Sept. Ok, ra ang parents ni Jaco"
thanks
Hot Sam,
I think it translates to "I still don't have my passport. The Italian will be back in Sept. Jaco's parents are ok." But, I could be wrong.
Viktor North,
Exchange rate is roughly P55.00 = $1.00, more or less. Yes, there are quality girls and it could cost more. Somehow, filipinas are not the most photogenic people around and are prettier in person. They are worth travelling halfway across the world.
Cebu Local,
Welcome back and needless to say we miss your advice and comments in this forum. More power to your business venture.
Hotsam I currently dont have my passport, the italian guy is arriving around september Jacos parents are ok
Krum love I dont go to Mars sice I use the more upscale places, but I have heard that it moved,500 pesos for bbbjcim is a bit low try adding about 200-300 pesos more, the girls tend to dislike cim and ask extra but 500 is fine for bbbj wo cim in those places.moalboal in August,Defenitely bring your own and it is low season only for "kano" High season for Koreans Regards and keep those questions coming

Damn, I just checked the site and they don't list R.P. Piso.
Last I heard it was around 53 to 1.
Ahhh, I found another:

55.92 according to them.
Wastrel, awesome report! Thanks a bunch. You really helped me out and I will save a lot of money.
So, everyone is Cebu will know what I'm up to? Wow. I believe you, and so I will take as many precautions as I can. I will definitely not hang with a girl that is local. Luckily, the prettiest one I've met online is from another Island. And, if I still get caught - then I'll just have to deal with it.
Cebu Local, welcome back. You're previoius posts have been great, and I look forward to reading more.
Thanks again all!

Another good exchange site is www.oanda.com
Welcome back Cebu Local!
As a long time lurker-newbie member - I am glad you are back, as I have always enjoyed your reports - am planning a trip both to Cebu and Dumaguete.
DS has recommended the Metropolis Court Hotel in Guadalupe to stay - as the "Cebu Local", do you know if they have a website I can book directly with?
My 2nd question is I have followed your previous years FR's on the KTVS in Manila, as I am going to basically see MNL too.
I would like to know how current your past years reports/advice regarding getting a KTV room and auditing if you will the GROs on an hourly basis, getting their nbrs, and calling them later as opposed to BF? Same question regarding the KTVs in Cebu.
I am an Amboy returning to the Phil., and like you I am a travel agt.,but here in the U.S. In past years I have sampled the Ermita(now the EDSA scene), and the local mongering places in Makati/Quezon City, due to the generosity of my cousins.
Thank You,
Lance
Thanks Cebu,
I've enjoyed your past posts. In regards to Moalboal, if there are Koreans there in August, I presume there would be girls there also trying to squeeze their hard earned won from them?
For easy calculations, use PhP50 = usd.1.
Then PhP1000 = usd.20.
Easy to have in back of your head when calculating barfines, what girls ask etc.
The exchange-rate is at present: PhP.55,950 = USD.1 according to Philippine Inquirer, a daily newspaper found on http://www.inq7.net/
Koreans dont go to Moalboal that much, they prefer to be in Mactan or the city, closer to casinos,Ktv s etc
Panther asked some questions about photography. So far no reply. I posted the message below in the photo section. So far no reply.
Questions:
I assume most of you guys take your digital camera to the Internet Cafe and put your, umm, travel pictures on a CD. Is that right?
Any problems? My Olympus works fine with my Windows XP -- I didn't have to add any special software. It would be nice if that's the case at an Internet Cafe in the Philippines.
I might also like to email some pictures directly from the Internet Cafe. Do the computers at the Internet Cafe have some sort of graphic software?
Thanks
RE: airfare search, addendum
I should have added to my 7/5 post that it is possible to search the consolidator airfare market online on the Los Angeles Times' website if it is hard to lay hands on that particular Sunday paper the old fashioned way where you are, but it can be a bit of a pain, as you have to navigate around to get out of the online html editorial text-only pages to an image of the print version online to see the display ads, and they are in an awkward pdf format, so it can take a while if you don't have a fast connection due to all the needed zooming in and out and waiting for pages to refresh. One really only has to do this once, though, because you can extract a really comprehensive inventory of the North America based consolidators competing on the Asian routes, complete with internet urls and other contact information for each for future use.
Trim,
Sorry for the delay responding to the follow-up question. Busy this week as I've been relieving my frustration at being in the wrong time zone. Met a couple of hungry young African-American ladies with legs up to their earlobes stranded in southern Nevada after wrecking their car, so I've been escorting them on a tour to sample some of the plushest carpet fibers and glamorous ceiling tiles on Las Vegas Boulevard, and am only now back in my US base to heal my exhausted aching back after this charitable ordeal. Sounds like you found your way.
FD,
Your point would be very well taken if any actual intact competitive sports organizations still existed in the LA basin. If they don't hang a line on it at the Stardust or Bally's it isn't a sport, so beach volleyball doesn't count.
Panther,
Walang anuman (don't mention it); I will have my invoice sent to your hotel c/o "Mr. Man" forthwith. Should help a bit with the bartabs from the aforementioned traveler's rescue mission. Filipinas have been known to make a bit of "a scene" all right. Even some pros can give new depth to your concept of the term "jealousy" so I have three little thoughts to help with your well founded concern for discretion: "Short-Time-Hotel." (Sometimes called a "Motel," which does NOT mean what it does in the USA, so don't mention you know this term around a really proper "good girl" or her family.) I don't know the Visayas or Cebu in particular, and there are some real first class experts posting here, but these delightful institutions are all over Manila. I think there was some chatter with web references about one very professional chain of them in the Manila or Makati section a few months ago. They exist to discretely and securely meet your needs in this department, and I have found that most are quite good at their specialty. For example, guys in the US cannot believe it when I tell them that if a young lady you, as the paying customer, have escorted in tries to leave one of these places before you have approved it, guards will march her back to your room at the point of a gun. Really, they actually do that. Use the opportunity to run a checklist: passport, tickets, money, camera, johnson, whatever you brought in that you feel especially attached to. God how I wish LA and Los Vegas had a few of these incredibly useful establishments.
