Daddy07, there are many short time places with air, including even PS Guesthouse (200 baht). Admittedly not a place everyone can stomach. There are several others on Soi Yamoto in the 200-300 baht range that are cleaner, and many others around Pattaya. Many even have hot water - Nipa House on Yamoto does for 200, and there's one opposite it that is downright posh for 300.. the name escapes me.
I always feel so much more relaxed in a short-time hotel, unless the girl is an old regular. Makes me nervous to have a strange girl in my room! (I know that sounds funny).
I'll add a non-Pattaya aside - up here in Isaan every town has an astounding number of '24 hotels', mostly near the outskirts. These are identifiable only by the 24 in the sign and the motel-building look, as there is usually no English. The typical charge is 150-160 baht for two hours, and about double that for overnight, though few sleep there. A small minority of these places will have girls on call, or a massage or kareoke front joint attached, though be warned the services are usually expensive for the foreigner (1,000-1,500). I assume these can be found in other parts of Thailand as well. Interestingly, these are all much cleaner and nicer than the typical short time place in Pattaya - many even have the mirrors round the bed.
