I'm landing in middle August in Bangkok, thought about staying at the Dawin on soi 4, stay for 3-4 days, check out the MP scene, the FL scene in the local bars and clubs, and check out the gogo bars, see everything. I'm pretty young and vibrant, and look pretty good, I shouldn't have trouble at the local bars. I'm coming to party. It's actually my summer break from school so I want to make the most of it. I'll be staying in nice hotels. I don't care adding some money.
The thing is, till now I've been planning based on what friends told me, they've been to Thailand, mainly phuket, without prior research on the web for the good places. I'm doing a lot of research and want to plan the perfect trip.
So I thought maybe then 3-4 days in Pattaya, I'me pretty picky when it comes to girls and don't know yet on what scenes I'll find my type.
Maybe a week or so in Patong beach (thought about the C&N hotel), and then back to Bangkok for a little shopping and more of the local scene, till the end of my time. Of course I can change my plans during the trip if some place doesn't suit me, or if I don't find anything I like. I'll try and sqeeze as much as I can into the time I've got, check out the places recomended here, and of course leave feedback when I get back any other thoughts or recomendations?
Thanks for the help. I'm really excited.
Also I don't think they have in room wireless internet.
Oh yes...
Yes, it's "always" their first time or "new" to the experience. LOL.
Can't believe you guys always believe that.
It's a line. Every time it's a line.
just posted a report in Pattaya and Other areas. Here are my final words from BKK about a month ago.
After a week in Chiang Mai and the very north with a regular friend I returned to Bangkok for my last night. I planned to leave in the morning the day before, but she took a day off and I left in the evening instead. That limited my possibilities in BKK a bit, and since I had two sessions with her that day I planned to go easy that night and save some strength for a soapy massage or maybe a session at Tulips.
I checked out NEP were it was fairly quiet and there were about 15-20 girls outside the parking lot at Nana Plaza at 2300, some more along Sukhumvit Rd close to Starbucks. Nothing that fancied my interest however. Then I walked down to Soi Cowboy and went into 3 gogos. They all looked a bit dead so I decided to return back to the hotel around midnight. There are some street bars just outside Cowboy on the way to Sukhumvit Rd. One of the girls was very charming, enough to make sit down and order a beer. I ended up bringing her back, 400B BF. I have never BF’ed from such an establishment before. She was also quite new to the game, only been in the business for 2 months. Her friend only had her third day at the job. Seems like this is a place for beginners. She was really sweet and funny, a bit limited English though. But I had very good night with her. After the second round I noticed some blood on the condom, and the morning fuck ended up as a BJ and face delivery. It seems like this was the trip for fresh girls with their period.
Some shopping and then home. Soon to be back in LOS.

I don't see the need why someone should leave the bigger part of luggage in BKK while travel around? I usually travel only with one suitcase, filled with cloths and toilet bag and a small backpack with my laptop. Why should I pay for a Hotel in Bangkok and leave those staff there? It didn't cost more if you take it with you, even when you use the bus from Ekamai.
By the why 90-200 Baht from the Bus Station to your Hotel in Pattaya is a rip off. I used a Songteaw and payed 20 or 40 baht to my Hotel near Royal Garden Plaza. At the way back I used a Taxi (Taximeter) which costs 40 baht.
DG69,
I will tell you exactly why! One he is not you and I am not you! We are all different. And my suggestion was in generalization and since I don't know him and this was his FIRST TIME! was to get him to think about the trip in a different perpective.
Over 28 years of working for a Airline and checking in and handling peoples bags I can tell you everyone pack different. Some take little and some take the kitchen sink. Factually, this is one reason luggage companies continue to design luggage bigger and more efficient in use. This is the reason when Airlines are losing Billions are going to charge you for extra pounds and extra luggage! I have seen it all and heard it all when it comes to people traveling with luggage! Now I hope that I got that out of the way! If not just remember he might not be a good lightweigh traveler like yourself.
As for a Hotel... Tansak KTV, suggestion is excellent but remember since I'm no expert on high or low season and he doesn't know exactly when he is returning, rooms might not be available when he doesn't know his exact agenda! This happen to me years ago in Hong Kong, while I went into China and back then to Thailand. They were happen to store my items but when I came back one day no room! Otherwise having the Hotel store your item is a money saver. But if not this is the reason I suggested he find a place that is inexpensive to off set the cost and again to find another place in Pattaya to offset the cost of keeping the room in Bangkok. Again, DG69 he is not you " I " and we certainly don't all think alike! So when it comes to the Bus my reference was if he traveled light and if he travels with several bags whether the bus charge you isn't relevant! What is relevant is that he has to lug the bags around to the Bus station.
In reference to taking the motorbike and Songteaw, it was in general since he is first timer! Not knowing how much he is going to carry and whether he is riding alone or with others I gave him a general idea although more than what you and I will pay but for a first timer to enjoy himself the last thing he needs to get bent out of shape over a few baht like yourself. My suggestion was for him to get there and have a good experience instead of thinking about being ripped off.
In the end... next time if there is a a next... he can think about saving some baht! Personally, some people might think that your 1 suitcase and a backpack is too much!

Sorry mate there is just no way I would leave my room key at the front desk. Even though they have a master key and all I would feel a bit better knowing that I can get to my own stuff when I wanted too and didnt need to check in and out of the hotel like I am checking in and out with mom and dad. Besides then you dont get nagged by questions like where you going? What you looking to buy, I can show you good place to buy (insert item here).
I stayed at the Radison last week 35 usd a night off season via the internet was a very very good deal I thought 17th floor.

Just for future reference ... give me details to save the Baht, LOL> I am a cheap SOB. I also prefer an overnight bag and a small rucksack when I travel.
Paying someone in thailand to do the washing up is more convienent even for a cheap bastard like me. :D

Each to there own.
I have never thought it as a problem keeping the key at reception. I can get my stuff anytime. Never had any hassle or questions like you have had. Just have a good day see you soon plus you get to know the staff better IMHO.
Also you have more chance of losing it if you take it out and about with you and some places will charge you for the loss of key.
-
Deep Diver,
Personally, I don't really think there are true cheap SOB, My wife calls me cheap but other Thai think she crazy just looking at the things we have! I'm more into the term " getting the best bang out of my baht ".
I lecture my friends that visit to be consistent in their approach when going anywhere. A good example is showing off tipping when they order a bowl of Thai noodles for 30 baht. Then walking a 1KM to save 10 baht on a broom.
D.D. If you don't like leaving your key at the hotel, make sure the key doesn't have the name of the hotel on it. This goes too with key cards! I always put out the Do Not Disturb sign with the T.V. slightly to keep them guessing, I check the locks on the window to see if they are working and how accessible they are from the outside. As for room safe don't use your birthday as your code which is very common cause if it is a inside job that information can be obtain when register at the desk.
Give your smelly boxers to the local to clean... for 100 baht you can give them a bundle and get it back the same day! They are everywhere dime a dozen. If you need something nice just go to Mike's a pick up a shirt and pants for your hot date on beach rd.
Enjoy man and spend lots of money to help out the economy!

Most places that I stay at have electronic cards as keys. Either magnetic or RFID. These places won't ask you to leave the key at the desk when you leave for the day. I've stayed at places still using skeleton keys and expecting you to drop the key before you leave for the day. These types of places will charge you for a lost key.
this question is only directed to those that are fans of star of light and enjoy all that it has to offer.
q: is star of light worth the flight from the us?
a: no, by itself it clearly is not worth it. it's a very small bar, maybe 300 square feet. two small booths, 4 barstools and a vip room (toilet). however, as you're in bangkok, i'm sure you'll find other places to enjoy as well. if public sex is your *only* interest, better to visit an fkk in germany.
q: how many girls are there to choose from?
a: hard to tell exactly -- i'd say ~8 during daytime, maybe few more at night. some of them do look decent, though no stunners.
q: what intrigues me most about star of light is the public bare back sex.
a: bbbj is the norm, as for bbfs... in spite of what michi said, i've an old fat german shagging a bargirl bareback on a barstool. not a standard service i presume, you may not get it.
q: i find sex in private absolutely boring and i always go bare.
[insert health warnings here]. don't expect sex to be too public -- at sol, i've been the only customer 70% of the time (i usually go in the daytime). sure, if you wait for a while, you'll see others in a bit of action, but it's a bj-bar that happens to be public, not really a public-orgy-park.
q: not just a blow job in public, but deep french kissing these nasty hags, licking there asses clean and sucking on their toes (okay, so exaggerating a bit but you get the point
a: they sure will oblige. 700 for bbbj, 1000 for bj + fs, double for 2 girls at the same time. not sure what they charge for licking their asses clean.
q: are there other bars where you can get this kind of action?
a: in thailand, no others that i know of. [CodeWord900] is another bj bar, but they have booths for privacy. kangaroo is a bit too dark (and girls are hags). there are some other bars where you can get a bit of action in a dark corner, but none are as public as sol.

Of course I know it's a line. But with no or very limited knowledge of English and not really much of a clue what to do when in the room, I start to believe it a bit.
I think in a way I'm beginning to be able to sort out the beginners and the pros - at least after I've tried them :)
But who cares as long as I enjoy myself
