Who would have guessed. Any credence that the tourists are the main players or is it the local people. I would pick sex over liquor any day.

Hello members,

This will be my maiden trip to Thailand. I'm planning for ten or twelve days together. 5 or 6 days in pats. 3 days in Phuket. 2 days in BKK. I have few doubts regarding my trip and other details. I'm putting down things my queries here. I hope some of you will take patience and time to answer them. Some of them might be silly and naïve. Its because of information glut in internet, I get doubts regarding even basic things. Sorry for the trouble.

1) I'm planning my trip in June or July. Is it ok? Will there be too much floods by then?

2) I assess Pattaya as the best place for spending more no of days with respect to availability of choices in girls? Rooms? Etc is it right?

3) Where should I spend more no of days? BKK or Pattaya?

4) I heard we can get on-arrrival visa for tourist people for 2 weeks. Is it right? Will it be a hassle getting VISA on arrival?

5) I'm a loner. So when I book the room should I take single occupancy or double? Will they allow the girl to stay with me for Lt at nights if I take single occupancy?

6) Are there good hotels which can give rooms with bathtub or Jacuzzi facility, gym, wi-fi facility and decent housekeeping for around 1000bahts for a day? If some name a few best ones in BKK and Pattaya?

7) Where is better to exchange currency to get the best value? I'm from India. So I think its better to do it here itself. What is your opinion friends?

8) Though my trip is mainly for mongering, I would like to do other things too like scuba etc. Do suggest some places for that?

9) I would also like to know good salons for men in Pattaya where you can get good services for hair removal etc?

10) Which is the best places in patts and BKK in terms of girls? Quality and service? I know it depends but I just want to know about the average situation in June and July?

11) Is there any pick up joints for working girls? I'm trying dating websites also. Will it be helpful? If so tell me which ones are good in terms of genuine profiles?

12) How do to manage food? I heard its very costly for quality food? I'm a non vegetarian so no problem. But still will food be a problem.

13) Go-go or karaoke or BJ bar or massage parlours or BJ –bars? Which is the best deal for ST and LT respectively?

14) A major question. How to differentiate between girls and ladyboys? I have a big aversion towards them. How to avoid if some ladyboy is persisting you?

19) One more important question. Where can I get perfect tattooing done? BKK or pats? Name the best artists who are good? I don't want to catch any kind of disease?

20) Is it good to hire a 2 wheeler or is it convenient to take public transportation for travelling? I think going through different soi and places will be difficult? Is it so?

21) Which is the best quality condoms in Thailand. Are the common brands available there? I don't want to catch any kind of disease.

22) I will be landing in BKK don muang airport. What is the best way to go to patts? Taxi or train?

I might have more questions. Will follow it up later. I hope some of our members will answer my questions. I'm waiting.

Happy Mongering guys. Take care.

Happy Mongering guys. Take care.
This is new, so you want all your hair totally removed from your head? Is this a popular procedure in India?

I suspect no one is going to answer your questions because you haven't made an effort to RTFF. Many have spent time and effort contributing here for your benefit.

RTFF indeed.
Hello members,

This will be my maiden trip to Thailand. (snip)
Here are your answers:

1) No one has been able to predict the weather with any accuracy for longer than 5 days. Your question cannot be reliably answered.

2) Yes.

3) It depends on what you want to do and your budget.

4) Check with the Thai embassy or consulate.

5) To be on the safe side take a double occupancy.

6) For 1000 bath you will not get that kind of room.

7) I always exchange money in one of the many banks or money changer stalls. Never do it in hotels.

8) You can do scuba diving in Pattaya and Phuket

9) I have no idea: my hair disappears by itself.

10) Pattaya: Soi 6; Bangkok: Soi Cowboy.

11) Pattaya: Soi 6, Beach Road, Walking Street, . ; Bangkok: Soi Cowboy, Nana, Thanon Sukumvhit.

12) Thailand is the land of good food. I think it is tasty and cheap.

13) I favor the agogo clubs.

14) Just ask them.

15) Bangkok: Annies.

Now few general questions.

16) Almost any pharmacy.

17) In the airport, but not when you are arriving. You have to buy your duty free liquor when leaving your country.

18) Dried fruits, silk ties, girlfriends.

19) I have no idea.

20) Take public transportation.

21) I always bring my own from home.

22) Define "best". A taxi will be most expensive but most convenient. Public transport will be cheap but if you are new to Bangkok, it will be a hassle.

Credit Suisse is projecting Thailand tourism will be flat this year rather than growing by 7.5% as it predicted earlier. It says historically Malaysia's tourist industry is highly negatively correlated with Thailand. To a lesser degree the same is true for Indonesia. In other words, many tourists change their destinations to one of these two other countries. While there is not much of a mongering scene in Malaysia, Jakarta is a surprisingly good and relatively unknown monger's destination.

I'm still planning to visit Bangkok for a few weeks in June and early July. Nothing short of armed insurrection and gun battles raging on Sukhumvit will keep me away. But those of you with less of an appetite for excitement may want to read up on Jakarta night life and read the appropriate threads in ISG.

Thanks! It will be my virgin trip (due to the crackdown in China). Thanks for the answers. It has helped me immensely.

A couple of additional questions:

1) What type of liquor do Thai girls like to drink? I like to stock my room for visitors.

2) It is a good idea to reserve hotels online? Since it is my first time, I won't know where I will like best. I will be there 10 days. I was thinking 3 days in Bangkok and then 3 in Pattaya and the rest will go to the place I like the best. Is there a price difference booking in person (or extending your stay) vs booking online?
1) What type of liquor do Thai girls like to drink? I like to stock my room for visitors.
99 times out of 100 Thai girls are not going to drink in the room. They are social drinkers. They will drink in a big disco with their friends or they will drink in the club to build up the courage to go with a farang. 9 times out of 10 there is no alcohol in those lady drinks that mongers like to buy for the girls in the bar. I would say when they do go out and drink then their top drinks are Absolut, Blend 285, Bacardi Breezer. You will see the girls who have farang sponsors buying bottles of Courvoisier at 3000 baht / pop. If it's beer then San Miguel Light. The bar in my room has been stocked for years and the truth of the matter is that they don't drink the shit when they come over. And I hardly ever drink so. The few times they have asked for a drink they have not finished it, so it was liquor gone to waste. One of the most heavily drinking Thai women I know came over sober last night and all she has been drinking since she got here is water. So make sure you have plenty of that on hand. I wouldn't worry about alcohol.

I never drink alcohol myself, so I don't even have it in my room. Never got a complaint about that.

I reserve my hotels through.

It is perfectly possible to do your reservations "on the spot" if you know where to go, but that is a hassle I am not interested in. If you are only a short time in country, then reserving up-front saves you time. When my Thai GF makes a booking in person she gets a better price and a discount. That never happened to me. Cheers for Thai GF that takes good care of me!

How busy might the airport be on a Monday at 1pm? This will be in May, off season so I'm hoping it will be a quick run through.

It is good hygiene to not drink from open containers in strangers hotel rooms so don't be offended. They have no more wish to wake up in an ice tub with a surgical scar at the side of the abdomen than we do.
