Apparently the ban at the borders came into effect without notice and heaps of people got turned back at the border at Mae Sai. I assume they didn't have Myanmar visas and thus it was obvious they were on visa runs.

I have never done it but I have been on the Golden Triangle tour a couple of times and was never desperate enough to pay the money to crossover just to say I have been to Myanmar.

I think the problem was that people on visa runs were not actually going into Myanmar, they just went through Thai immigration and turned around and came back. You can get a short, limited stay visa for a day for 500 baht or US$10 and turn back around or shop. There have been a few people writing on some websites about not being able to go through Thai immigration, I'd say this is because they don't have Myanmar tourist visas. The problem wasn't when they returned, it was getting out.

Not a problem for me, I actually need to do my visa runs to Thailand as my multiple enter Myanmar visa only allows for 70 day stays. Poor me, having to slum it in BKK for a weekend every 2 months.

This lifted, verbatim, from an e-mail I received from Sunbelt Asia:

OK, I've never been to Tijuana, so maybe I should keep my mouth shut. However based on extensive mongering and traveling in other cities, Mexico is not in the same league. If you don't consider the flight over, then based on cost, beauty of the women, convenience, and variety and quantity of venues, Bangkok wins hands down. The exception, there are some gorgeous hookers at the top end, on [URL]www.zonadivas.com[/URL] and in high-dollar table dance clubs, that are more attractive than almost anything in Thailand. However they run $200 to $300 an hour. I still like Mexico because I can better relate to the culture and can speak the language.

On a budget of $1,000 a day, I could have a great time in Mexico City, Guadalajara or Cancun with exceptionally hot women and great food in 4 or 5 star hotels. I could do the same thing in Bangkok for a lot less money, with women that aren't quite as attractive. And I don't have to be as discrete getting my dates into my hotel in Bangkok.

"The crackdown is all about preventing foreigners from using visa-exemptions and tourist visas to stay in Thailand and work," Gen Pharnu said.

"We should have done this a long time ago. We have let foreigners work illegally in Thailand on tourist visas for too long. It's time to stop them.".

The immigration chief was clear that from August 13 any foreigners who fail to prove that they are tourists will not be allowed to re-enter the country on visa exemption status (story here), as explained in a formal notice posted on Bangkok Immigration's website on May 8.

"From August 13, if we suspect any foreigner of working illegally in Thailand on a tourist visa, that person will be detained and deported, even if the foreigner has not previously completed even a single visa run," he said.

"People who are deported will be banned from re-entering Thailand for five years.

It was posted earlier here that Immigration offiers at the border will be able to use their own judgement to allow someone to enter the country. That will lead to widespread bribery at the borders.

I am hearing many things. Such as late arriving flights being stuck at the airport, etc.

I am in country so my ears are open for the ongoing joy.

All TV channels are playing music and only military channels are doing news or such.

My first trip too Thailand. Now I will go over there for 3 weeks time. With a budget too spend of 4000 euro for hotels, drinks, food and sure our hobby. I am not a monger that thinks in terms of quantity, rather quality and I am into GFE. So too start with I thought to chose caerfully and take with me girls LT now and then when I feel for it and when I find the right ones.

But here is a problem, I don't know what too do with. It happens that I accsidentley met this girl online from BKK. The thing is she is 10, period! And after some days chatting is crazy after me. Telling me she will take holidays and stay with me when I am in Thailand.

Its not that I don't want to be with her, but telling yes would destroy all posibiliteys too bang other girls. I don't really know what is the best play here.

When it's time for her to leave tell her to go. It's your time; it's your money; it's you vacation. You set the rules. But be nice about it. No need to offend her and get her pissed off.
