Oh really? You know this guy, Alex? What are the odds!
I think Alex is from somewhere in Europe. He speaks very good English, probably it's his first language. He has a few apartments in Laureles. I think he owns some of them. He also rents some unfurnished and turns them into furnished for Airbnb rentals. I don't think he has any rentals in a tower with long-term renters. You shouldn't have any problems bringing your female companions to his apartments.
Dude, its the weirdest thing. All the top sex tourism destinations attract bucket loads of young American girls.
Well there are American men there so maybe they hope to meet someone. I would not refuse them. If it's free, that's for me. However I spent two weeks ago in El Poblado two years ago. The only white woman I saw was a pretty girl holding hands with her white boyfriend. It made an impression on me because I thought "If he has a girlfriend why is here with her?" However I didn't really get out into the nightlife too much. I went hunting in casas.
You shouldn't have any problems bringing your female companions to his apartments.
I just chatted with him. I didn't ask about guests however I got the exact location of my apartment. I'm attaching a photo. Cq. 2 #71-43, Laureles. Estadio, Medellíand, Laureles, Medellíand, Antioquia, Colombia.
I go in that gated door, up a flight of stairs and there are two apartments. One is for me. So no one will know what I am doing other than possibly whoever is in the other apartment.
That's so interesting. I was looking over this list.

Walk around El Poblado. See the grave of Pablo Escobar. See graffiti. To each his own but I can't see specially paying for lodging and transportation to Medellin to enjoy these riveting activities. Maybe this is just a cover story but they are actually coming for cheap drugs?
Check the higher end hotels in Poblado. Last time I was there they were full of foreign tourists. Families, couples, old, young. Then look around at younger (generally) digital nomad types. There are many many. There are whole apartments full of foreign tech workers based in Medellin. Last stats were over 1 million tourists in 2024 for Medellin. I would be surprised if the monger percentage was even 20% of that. But that's only a guess on my part. But as for the original point. There certainly is a concern in Colombia, and in Medellin in particular, to NOT be seen as a sex tourism destination, because that takes away from other forms of tourism, and it is also viewed as being not a good thing by the normal citizens. They tolerate prostitution, but they don't want to see it or be known for it. There are public organizations that lobby against it, including one that gets hotels to sign on to. Even 8 years ago many of the hotels would have a notice in the hotel lobby that they would not tolerate prostitution in any way, and especially warning about the consequences of illegal aspects relating to age.
I don't mean to insult Medellin however is there any tourism there except sex tourism? If all the sex workers would magically vanish tomorrow how many people would vacation in Medellin? Are they going to come just to see where Pablo Escobar used to live? If they want to elimate sex tourism then totally shut down all tourist accommodations. Problem solved.
All it takes is a single stroll through Provenza. What do you see, 60%+ of older (30+) couples (either locals or mostly foreigners on vacation). Younger folks, harder to tell of course. People who are here for the food, nightlife, country, and fun. That's just the main area. Then you have all kinds of eco-tourism (see how many tours there are online for sale). There are over half a dozen motorcycle rental companies focused on tourists (Colombia is a motorcycle riders dream). Etc. The food / restaurant / nightlife alone is a great bargain for those visiting the country; the country is beautiful to explore, the restaurant choices continue to expand, etc. There is a ton of tourism that continues to grow and guess what, spends way more locally than any monger.
It's easy to overlook the power of social media algorithms. If you search "Medellin" on youtube or any of the other platforms, sex tourism shows up high in the results. It's not necessarily an accurate reflection of the tourism sector. It's more about what "creators" and "influencers" choose to present in order to get the most clicks and associated advertising revenue. The old saying "sex sells" applies here. Medellin and the rest of Colombia is pretty multifaceted beyond Parque Lleras and Plaza Botero.

It's a beautiful location and the climate is exceptional. Eternal Spring. But what about robberies? Two years ago there were huge problems with local men walking up to foreigners, drawing a pistol and if you didn't IMMEDIATELY empty your pockets he might gun you down. There were several tourist murder victims. And this was happening in the best areas in broad daylight. I pretty much stuck to my room or brothels. Even so I still lost my cellphone to a pickpocket however I expected that and purposely brought a junkie old phone.
So is that all gone now? Is it perfectly safe for foreigners to wander around anywhere and everywhere smelling the flowers? That would be awesome.
Dude, its the weirdest thing. All the top sex tourism destinations attract bucket loads of young American girls. Don't ask me why they want to go there though, I couldn't tell you. I remember seeing a hot group of girls in Cartagena and approaching them only to realize as I got closer they were sadly American. Punta Cana, same thing, but black American women. Older women too. Jaco beach, yeah same thing, loads of American chicks.
It is not widely known but the Dominican Republic is a hotbed for female American sex tourists.
It is not widely known but the Dominican Republic is a hotbed for female American sex tourists.
Jamaica is famous for the Rent a Rastas. I believe a lot of European ladies go to Ghana for that purpose. People in these countries are poor. English speaking and a short plane ride away. I have heard however that women do it a bit differently than men. They won't give a boy $50 for an hour. They will buy him clothes, electronics, pay his rent and hang out with him for a couple of weeks. But it's really the same thing.

Use vacationstogo.com and select "All ports or places to visit" at the bottom of the list.
For example: there are 27 cruises that depart somewhere around the world in Oct 2025 that stop in Cartagena and 126 cruises departing in November 2025 that stop at some time in Cartagena.
It is not widely known but the Dominican Republic is a hotbed for female American sex tourists.
I don't think its a big secret. A few years ago a lady I used to work with once told me she loves her vacations in Cabaretti DR. She was a life long single woman in her forties. Sorry probably mispelled that. Of course I played dumb to her face and showed no sign of knowing anything about the place, but had a good laugh to myself as soon as she walked away LOL.

I would have leaned into it. When I was in Cabarete last month me and my girl were eating at my favorite restaurant on the beach (El Pescador). This beautiful young White chick was all over the host saying how it was her last night in town. I told him so you are a sanky panky (guy who gets paid from foreign women) huh? He swore he was not and that he was just the host of the restaurant. The next day when we went to the restaurant I asked him if he ended up getting with that chick and he said no. I said man you dropped the ball on that one. She was all over you like stank on shit.
Just curious, where did you pull a chica from at that time of day? Just curious because I am going to be looking around that time as well. Wasn't sure if the ladies were out Parque Lleras yet.
I'm currently here and I've seen some as early as 4 pm at parque lleras, maybe 10-15 of them.
I am yet to try Centro for a quickie.
Can some kind soul please recommend one or two clean ST hotels near Veracruz church and also let me know the approx cost of room and girl for media hora? Muchas Gracius.
