I have been following the PP and Sihanoukville threads for a while. My question to the veterans is this: as a 1st-timer, would you do a side trip to Sihanoukville if you only had 4 days in Cambodia? I am leaning towards no.

Here's what I now do to avoid being gouged on prices. First, say to the mamasan and the guy on reception that you are only willing to pay $7 usd for the room rent /"massage". They will agree to this. Last time in February they charged me $15 and I stupidly agreed.

Second, tell the mamasan that you will only pay $25 usd for boom boom. She will say that you will have to ask the girl first. So pull a chick out of the fishbowl, and then in front of the mamasan and the reception guy start bargaining with the chick for the boom boom price. The first chick I pulled out said she wanted $50 usd. I said no, $25, so chucked her back in the pond. What is her pussy lined with gold dust? Guess she took one for the team.

Next girl agreed to my very generous offer of $25 usd. So that was it. Do all the negotiations in the waiting room. Don't go up to the room after having paid the room, or the girl will treat you like a fool and say that boom boom is $80 usd. Then you will have all sorts of problems trying to negotiate her down to a reasonable price.

I have done this 3 times now. Walked out $32 lighter, and no nasty price surprises. Pretty good fuck each time. Girls are in the 6 to 7 range but all are young. I am leaning towards no.[/QUOTE]4 days is too short for visiting Phnom Penh AND Sihanoukville. It takes about 4 hours to drive from PP to Sihanoukville by taxi (and around 5,5 hours by minivan). I like Sihanoukville much more than PP but both cities are worth to vsit. If you will stay in PP a must see are the killing fields (around 15 km). Sihanoukville has a nice (small) waterfall.
