But meeting a DH using WeChat, definitely. 'People Nearby' is your friend.

Picked up one on a Sunday afternoon, she'd just finished catching up with friends at a mall which turned out to be one block from my hotel. We started chatting, it was as always a stinking hot humid day, I suggested we could meet for a cold beer and she could freshen up with a shower in my room. It is my understanding that in Asia the ladies can be extremely judgmental on the gentleman's background. Do you know if the DHs tend to gravitate to men of a certain "background"? I. e. Do they prefer that the guy be of Asian or European descent and tend to avoid other type of gentlemen.

I want to stress I am not trying to start any type of debate or looking down on anyone. Rather, I am just trying to understand the ground realities better. I have read in the KL forum that certain background have a hard time meeting ladies. That is all.

That's not only what I read here all the time but also what DHs (Filipinos and Indonesians) in Singapore and Hong Kong have told me, along with WLs in Singapore, eg many at Brix. So if you fall into that category, I'm sorry to say you will be against the odds / behind the 8 ball right from the start, IMHO.

I don't think they are too selective when it comes to some quickie sex. If you can't hook up with one, move to the next selection.

Hi, thanks for the feedback again. My last question / point was for a friend. I told him to try his luck and read the forum also to get some necessary background information. If he faces some "selection bias", he should not take it personally, at it is the lady's choice on who she wants to spend her time with. Moreover, you do not want to meet a lady overseas, in a foreign country, and have any type of misunderstanding with her.

Mr. AussieGaigin said it the best, move on to the next one, if not the next one, and so on and so forth, but do not take it personally. I told my friend to be upfront and honest, and if the lady did not like his look on WeChat or DateInAsia, do not expect any response back. He is of Indian descent but was born and raised in America, so he sounds and acts completely like an American. I asked him to post his experiences once his trip is over.

This type of "filtering" happens everywhere. Please look at these sites, one in Montreal, some in London, and the last one on the other side of the globe in Sydney; some of the ladies specifically exclude certain men, or explicitly list as willing to meet men of a certain background. Again it is their choice on who they want to be with and who they are comfortable in meeting. I also heard it happens in Germany with the agencies there. They are just not so blunt on their websites, they just tell you when you call them, or claim the lady is unavailable, or specifically ask for nationality in the booking request form.
